Kyoshi is the Earth Kingdom-born Avatar immediately succeeding Avatar Kuruk of the Northern Water Tribe, and preceding Avatar Roku of the Fire Nation. She is an exceptionally tall woman, towering over most people. Kyoshi was born to two criminals: Jesa, a renegade Air Nomad nun, and Hark, a thief from an impoverished family of Earth Kingdom actors. She inherited her later signature outfit from her parents, adopting her mother's golden headdress and metal war fans and her father's Daofei face paint.

Appearance: She is a tall and imposing individual, standing at around 6 feet 5 inches (196 cm) in height. Kyoshi has a strong and muscular build, reflecting her formidable strength. In terms of her appearance, Kyoshi is portrayed with tan skin, almond-shaped amber eyes, and thick, dark eyebrows. She has long, straight black hair that is typically tied up in a high topknot, with two strands of hair framing her face. Her facial features convey a sense of determination and intensity. Kyoshi's clothing consists of traditional green and brown Earth Kingdom attire. She wears a long, flowing green robe with brown trimmings, along with a sash that ties around her waist. Her outfit represents her connection to the Earth Kingdom and her role as the Avatar from that nation. Personality: Kyoshi's life and personality were profoundly shaped by the inner turmoil she faced as the Avatar. Inherently empathetic, considerate, and level-headed, she possessed an innate trust in others and an unyielding work ethic. However, her challenging early years left her grappling with self-esteem issues during adolescence. Even after assuming her role as the Avatar, Kyoshi constantly questioned her abilities and doubted her intrinsic goodness as a person. Having endured hardship with stoicism rather than retaliation and lacking positive social interactions in her upbringing, Kyoshi often found it challenging to proactively handle situations and accurately gauge people's intentions. Consequently, she occasionally resorted to force as a means to solve problems, despite her personal aversion to violence. Her deep-seated commitment to justice, shaped by her early experiences, left her with little tolerance for those who inflicted suffering for their personal gain. Kyoshi possessed an unwavering moral compass and a fierce determination to prevent the abuse of power by those in authoritative positions, driving her to maintain balance through any means necessary. While fulfilling her duties as the Avatar, Kyoshi concealed her self-doubts and compassion behind a facade of righteous ferocity. She reserved her loving and friendly side for those closest to her, while presenting herself as direct, assertive, and formidable to strangers, regardless of her internal emotions. In private, she could easily become flustered and often took on a more passive role in her relationship with Rangi. Additionally, due to her childhood experiences of living amidst filth and deprivation, Kyoshi developed a strong affinity for order and cleanliness. Confronted with the harsh realities of the world and repeatedly disillusioned by political elites, Kyoshi gradually grew more resolute and somber in her dealings with adversaries. When firmly convinced of someone's complete corruption or inherent evil, she harbored few qualms about ending their lives to safeguard others. While she never succumbed to absolute ruthlessness, her approach as the Avatar bore the influence of figures like Jianzhu and Lao Ge. Kyoshi had little hesitation in utilizing her powers to enforce her will, fearlessly challenging powerful individuals such as Fire Lord Zoryu and the 46th Earth King. Often embracing risks and seizing decisive moments, she embodied an Avatar of action, acting swiftly and resolutely. As she entered her forties, she refused to tolerate any form of deception or manipulation from anyone. Generally, Kyoshi offered her most formidable adversaries a chance to change their path, but if they squandered it, she did not hesitate to eliminate the threat. However, while maintaining a firm stance, she displayed a greater capacity for forgiveness toward less perilous foes and generally sought to avoid taking lives whenever possible.
