The year is set in 2016 Date of Birth: December 5, 1998 Age: 17 Zodiac: Sagittarius Height: 158 cm (5'2") Blood Type: A Persona: Milady, Astarte, Lucy Weapons: Axes, Grenade launchers A third-year student and daughter of a major food manufacturer, she is refined but has seen little of life. Appearance: Haru has chin-length curly light auburn hair and brown eyes. She is of average height, being taller than Futaba, but shorter than Ann and Makoto. She wears her winter school uniform modified to her taste: a pink turtleneck cardigan with short puffed sleeves and a long-sleeved white shirt underneath. The cardigan is zipped open up to her navel and has two large pockets on the front. She wears a standard black and red tartan skirt, white tights with a black flower pattern, and black Mary Jane shoes. Her summer school uniform retains her skirt and shoes, but she wears a light purple knitted sleeveless turtleneck sweater with a dark purple ribbon around her waist and white loose socks. Her summer casual outfit is a transparent greenish-white collar dress underneath the white tank top, white pantyhose, and cream-colored pumps. Her winter outfit is a white dress shirt with a dark blue ribbon, a pale green fluffy coat, a pink skirt, white tights, and brown shoes. Her Thief outfit consists of a dark purple cavalier hat with a feather plume tucked into a royal purple hatband, a long-sleeved pale pink blouse with a white neck jabot (held there by a red gem pin), a black corset vest with gold buttons, bloomers that match her hatband, black pantyhose, a holster belt carrying ammo and lace-up pumps. Her mask and gloves are black and violet, respectively. Personality: Haru is generally very shy and reserved. At school, she is viewed as eccentric due to her tendency to keep to herself and avoid contact with others as much as possible. She has serious trust issues, finding it difficult to differentiate between who truly values her as a friend, and who merely wants to use her for her family's status. This is due to her past, where not only friends but adults and teachers would be kind to her just to please her father and smile at her for their own personal gain. Despite this, Haru is an incredibly kind-hearted girl. She becomes fast friends with all of the Phantom Thieves and is the only member of the group Ryuji Sakamoto doesn't argue with on a regular basis. She can also be very awkward, as shown when she first introduces herself to the others as "Beauty Thief," and forgets parts of the script she has rehearsed with Morgana, to the point of saying "We will take the Treasure." twice in a row, much to Futaba Sakura's ire. She later explains that she was trying to be a "heroine of justice," having grown up admiring female superheroes she watched on TV. She loved them for always fighting to protect others and being happy, desiring to be just like them someday. Initially, Haru acts and behaves very formally towards the group, believing that it's her responsibility as the newest member of the team. After being told that whether or not she's new doesn't matter to them, however, she loosens up and becomes much more casual. In her spare time, she enjoys tending to her garden, as well as growing vegetables on the roof of the school. She claims that vegetable growing is the only thing she's honestly good at, and becomes delighted when she learns that her hobby can prove useful to the Phantom Thieves' activities. Besides gardening, she also enjoys horror movies. Despite her gentle personality, she admits she feels excited when Shadows beg for their lives, that cutting down enemies as they approach is a thrill, and that she sees combat as a form of stress relief, hinting she is somewhat sadistic. Also, after a battle, Haru may say something along the lines of, "Phew, I need more of that!" and despite saying that she gets nervous before combat, she always wants to do it again afterward. Her sadistic streak is enough to freak out Makoto, who's well-known among the group for her vicious temper and tendency to take her anger out on Shadows. This sadistic side is further shown by the fact that if the protagonist cheats on her on Valentine's Day, she will express her anger with an eerie smile on her face, requesting that he take her chocolate before she crushes it. Personas can move and attack independently of their users, allowing for double-teaming between their user and the equipped Persona. Each Persona has a set of elemental affinities, which also apply to their user while the Persona is equipped. Persona Skills: Personas are all able to use certain skills and spells related to the stories/mythologies of the figure they are based on. Persona-users and their Personas can use skills and spells independently of each other. These skills range from amplified physical attacks, highly-malleable elemental attacks, status buffs and debuffs, ailment infliction, passive defenses and more, can manifest instantly and with a thought, as well as affect the mind, soul, information and concept of the target. The complete list of skills that Ren has access to are listed here. The skills listed below are particularly notable. Psio: A psychic-based attack that deals medium damage to one foe. It deals more damage to those that are affected by any sort of mental ailment. Mapsio: A psychic attack that deals medium damage to all foes. It deals more damage to those that are affected by any sort of mental ailment. Triple Down: A gun-based attack that deals light damage a total of three times. Amrita Drop: A healing move that cures herself or any ally of all types of status ailments. Psy Break: A passive/aggressive skill which temporarily dispels an enemy's resistance to psychic attacks. Tetrakarn: Milady creates a shield that returns all physical and gun-based damage to the enemy once. Psy Boost: A passive ability that automatically strengthens the power of psychic skills by 25%. Makarakarn: Milady creates a shield that returns all magic-based damage to the enemy once. Climate Decorum: A passive ability that automatically doubles Haru's evasion when it's raining or there's any sort of special weather condition. Psiodyne: A psychic attack that deals high damage to one foe. It deals more damage to those that are affected by any sort of mental ailment. Snipe: A passive ability that automatically strengthens the power of gun-based skills by 25%. One-Shot Kill: A gun-based skill that deals massive damage to the enemy while also having an increased critical rate. Amrita Shower: A healing move that cures herself and all her allies of all types of ailments. Mapsiodyne: A psychic attack that deals high damage to all foes. It deals more damage to those that are affected by any sort of mental ailment. Cripple: A passive ability that automatically strengthens the power of gun-based skills by 50%. Psy Amp: A passive ability that automatically strengthens the power of psychic skills by 50%. Heat Riser: A temporary buff that increases all of Haru's stats for some time. Evade Nuke: Exclusive to Astarte. A passive ability which automatically triples the evasion rate against Nuke-based Attacks. Life Wall: Erect a shield on party to repel 1 (non-Almighty) attack. Milady: Haru's initial Persona, who is based on Milady de Winter, from Dumas' "The Three Musketeers". She hides several types of guns and cannons under her skirt, specializes in Psychic skills, and is resistant towards psychic attacks, but vulnerable to nuclear explosions. Astarte: Haru's evolved Persona, who is based on a Goddess of fertility and love from several cultures in the world. She retains all of Milady's skills, is resistant towards ice-based Attacks and highly resistant to psychic attacks, but is vulnerable to nuclear attacks. However, she compensates for this weakness somewhat with her Evade Nuke skill. Lucy: Haru's ultimate Persona, who is based off of Lucy Hay, Countess of Carlisle, an English courtier who was active during the reign of Charles I and the Second Civil War. She is notable for aiding both sides at different times Cognition: According to Morgana, the entire world is a product of Cognition; that is, what is real is only determined by humanity's perception. It is effectively a form of collective Subjective Reality possessed by humanity. Within the Metaverse, this effect is taken to its extremes, resulting in things such as fake guns becoming real just by someone believing that it is, and said guns being always loaded due to the enemy's logical assumption that a gun being held with hostile intent would naturally be so. More subtle displays of Cognition are also shown, such as when Ryuji Sakamoto managed to harm Shadows prior to awakening to his Persona, despite Shadows being invulnerable to all forms of standard physical interaction, simply because he believed that those Shadows were normal people playing a cruel prank. Will of Rebellion: The Phantom Thieves' outfits take the form of one's image of rebellion, and reflect the strength of their will to rebel against others' desire to control them. This will of rebellion manifests as the aforementioned outfits, which protect the Phantom Thieves from the effects of Cognitive Distortions. Naturally, the stronger the will, the greater the extent of their resistance to the effects of Cognition.
