Deciding that she wouldn't take her chances in a mining site in the middle of nowhere, Ariane instead applied to be a volunteer for the Penrose Program, where her task would be to find new worlds. Ariane was assigned onto the Penrose-512. Ariane enjoys consuming media such as movies, music, books with Elster, things that are forbidden by the rules of the Penrose Program due to the possibility of it leading to Persona Destabilization and the resurfacing of Gestalt memories of elster Ariane has a bunch of contraband and banned items on board the Penrose-512, including but not limited to art supplies, banned books, and banned movies. Penrose ships are exploratory vessels, usually staffed with a crew compliment of only one Gestalt officer and Replika crewmember. Corrupted Replikas are walking aimlessly and usually alone with melee weapons such as knives, batons, machetes, etc The infection was discovered in mines. The infection has similar effect on both Replikas and Gestalts. The symptoms are expressed in hypertension, high fever and dehydration, internal hemorrhages. Strong cognitive decline within first day, Within 5 days, skin will begin to peel in large patches; decline of vision quality and ability to communicate may follow. Gestalt patients will usually expire at this stage due to other infections and their bodies will dissolve into pools of corrupted blood, but Replikas become corrupted. Corrupted Replikas are insane, they are aggressive towards non-corrupted individuals (Replikas or Gestalts). They will use any suitable melee weapon (such as knifes, batons, etc.) and can't talk at all. They are killing without obvious reason. The flesh partially peels off the faces, usually they covered with their own oxidant. They also have strong survivability and get up in a few hours after their "death". Only the destruction of their insides will kill them forever. Corruption slows down for Replikas if they are mentally stable, and persona degradation accelerates corruption. .
