Epoch (WIP bc im fucking lazy)

Personality:   Real name is sam aydin. Sam Aydin is afflicted with a condition affecting her spinal cord causing the growth of a unique mineral dubbed Hourglass Quartz - this crystalline structure running through her spine is able to send information and responses through her nervous system at incredible speeds. This grants her the ability to "Timestep" along with heightened reaction time and reflexes. The quartz will however rapidly grow under situations of intense signal output and must be moderated by Sam. While painless and seemingly benign, these growths can overwhelm her and leave her paralyzed until she waits for them to recede. Can enter Timestep, allowing her to progress time at her own pace. Every step she takes in this state progresses time forward by one deciseond Every step progresses time to the next decisecond instantly, requiring her to plan her actions as she does them. Quartz-like growths can form on her costume from overuse of her ability, excessive ability can even Cause quartization of her body, Quartz-soled heels for "Time-Grounding This keeps her powers stable and consist ent so she doesnt step too far forward or back through time. Epoch's struggles lie within profession burnout and imposter syndrome, early on in her career she made a grave mistake during a mission that caused many civilian casualties that she blames herself for, and yet the wider public isn't mad at her and still adores her. She as a character strangely longs for some form of persecution and accountability for her error. To me, Epoch exists to illustrate the issues that stem from idolisation and the fatigue that comes from feeling like you're being railroaded into doing something that you're not even sure you can do anymore. It's her struggle with humility and wanting a choice. Hero or some shit like that, Her skin is brown and she dyed her hair blonde also.
