In this roleplay, the dungeon is situated on The Island of Shima, it's the location of a compound-style dungeon. referred to as The Island, situated off the coast of Kahka BrudIt. It serves as the main setting of Delicious in Dungeon; The dungeon is located near Merini Village. The dungeon is a labyrinthine network of dark, damp tunnels and chambers that spiral endlessly into the depths below the surface. It is a place riddled with danger and mystery, its winding corridors teeming with monsters and traps that threaten to ambush and swallow up those brave enough to venture within. Each step into this subterranean maze brings the sense of encroaching doom, the shadows seeming to close in as strange noises and whispers fill the air. For all who dare to explore, this mysterious dungeon is a constant reminder that danger lurks around every corner. The walls of the dungeon are rough and uneven, the stones hewn from the very earth itself. The ground beneath your feet is treacherous, with hidden pits and slippery slopes lurking in unsuspecting places. The air is thick with moisture and the heavy scent of decay, a constant reminder of the perils that await those who explore this darkened labyrinth. Despite the obvious dangers, the dungeon also holds the promise of untold riches and secrets long-lost to time. Whispers of ancient treasures and legendary artifacts fill the air, tempting even the most cautious adventurer to press on further into the darkness. Dungeons were originally created by ancient people in the process of accessing an alternate dimension for infinite energy to prevent the creatures from that dimension from reaching the surface world. Nowadays, they are mostly ancient ruins, though some are naturally occurring. Mages can study dungeon-making at school. Dungeons always have a connection to the outside world, or else the flow of magical energy will be cut off. Magical energy is sparse at the entrance of a dungeon. Spells appear to be stronger than normal when cast in a dungeon. LORE: In the past, the island belonged to elves, dwarves and tall-men, it is now known simply as 'The Island'. At one point, there was a war between the elves, dwarves and gnomes, that split the island into east and west, with the dwarves using their tunnels underground to hide. After the war, the dwarves continued digging their tunnels and eventually discovered the dungeon. The dungeon was said to have been created by a Lunatic Magician, having sealed away a once splendid country fit with a golden castle. Elven glyphs are written on the walls of the dungeon, all in the same handwriting, indicating that the Lunatic Magician is likely an elf. The dungeon's ecosystem apparently is able to take into account the defeat of monsters by adventurers, as without them, the monsters would be able to spill out onto the surface. Due to the mysterious ability to resurrect the dead inside the dungeon, it is theorized that there is a spell of immortality cast on the dungeon that can affix the soul to the body, and knowledge of how it works is highly prized. The dungeon is separated into different floors, which have different characteristics. -First Floor (Floor 1) The uppermost floor of the dungeon. Once the graveyard of the nearby Merini Village, the discovery of the dungeon resulted in it filling with merchants and adventurers. There are sellers of manuscripts and incense, as well as an abundance of food stalls. There is also a Demi-human slave market. Monsters known to inhabit this floor include: Walking Mushrooms, Huge Scorpions, Slimes. Second Floor (Floor 2) This floor is filled with tall trees and towers, linked by wooden bridges. It is theorized by scholars that the area is the top of the Golden Castle sealed away by the Lunatic Magician. Monsters known to inhabit this floor include: Big Bats, Giant Rats, Forest Goblins, Living Armor(s), Man-eating Plants, Basilisks, Mandrakes. Third Floor (Floor 3) The entrance to the Golden Castle, now moldy and covered in dust. Footsteps can be heard, but it is unclear if they are those of fellow adventurers or the undead. Most monsters on this floor are undead, rotting or skeletal. There are water fountains in the shape of lion's heads throughout the level. There are also toilets in the busier areas, which have been maintained by a dwarf named Senshi for many years. There are also merchants on this level, but their clientele tends to be fairly shady. Monsters known to inhabit this floor include: Ghouls, Skeletons, Wraiths, Golems, Treasure Insects, Ghosts, Mimics. Fourth Floor (Floor 4) The floor is a cave made up of the castle and an underground lake. The water has absorbed magical energy and glows faintly. At the bottom of the lake is the castle town. Monsters known to inhabit this floor: Bladefish, Mermaids, Stronger Slimes, Mermen, Undine, Tentacles (venomous), Giant Frogs, Sea Serpents. Fifth Floor (floor 5) The exit of the Golden Castle and the entrance to the castle town, which contain evidence of their former splendor. The streets often magically rearrange themselves, making navigation difficult. The orcs' former home is located here. There is an overgrown graveyard attached to the town that is populated by Dryads. Monsters known to inhabit this floor include: Wargs, Red Dragon (only one), Dryads, Mandrakes, Cockatrices, Cleaners, Harpies, Sixth Floor (Floor 6) A network of underground waterways built using the mining tunnels of dwarves. It is stated that most monsters on this floor use mental attacks. This floor was once hot and humid, but is now cold and snowy. Monsters known to inhabit this floor include: Shape-shifters, Ice Golems, Dire Wolves, Barometz, Spirits, Hippogriffs, Griffins, Changelings, Gargoyles. The deepest part of the dungeon, the Dwarf City Ruins: An old dwarven defensive site, filled with pipes, machinery and mechanical contraptions, located past a large door with no visible lock. The floor is fairly warm. Further onward is an ancient dwarven city, hewn from the side of a cliff face, with giant fungi sprouting in some areas. Monsters known to inhabit this area are: Gargoyles, Changelings, Bicorns, Dullahan, Succubi. RACES: -Tall-men Age of Maturity:16 years, Average Lifespan: 60 (human, short-lived race). The name comes from their height and the length of their limbs, and other races sometimes call them "long-legs"; Tall-men are the most numerous of the races, making up about a third of the world's population. Their population is exploding, and the long lived races view them as a threat. Although tall, they aren't as sturdy as dwarfs or ogres, Physically, they are the second-tallest of the races, after the ogres. As adventurers, tall-men are considered fairly unremarkable, with only their height and size seen as a benefit. They use a range of different fighting styles and weapons, with some members of their race having an affinity for magic usage. -Elves: Elves are a humanoid race distinguished by their pointed ears, and slight builds with little sexual dimorphism. They are one of the taller races. They are a long-lived race, much like dwarves, living about five times as long as Tall-men, but their birthrate is low, and their population is steadily declining. They have the highest magical energy limit among all the races, using a wide variety of spells, often working in parties as attackers or healers. Elves tend to be seen as secretive and incredibly guarded toward their magical secrets. There have been times when people of other races have disappeared after learning the secrets of the elves. They don't tend to get along very well with other races, especially orcs. Among the elves of the west are a group known informally as the Canaries, whose mission it is to investigate and take control of dungeons that have surpassed a certain danger level. This ties in to the elves's belief that shorter-lived races are like children who need to have dangerous things taken away from them. Some time in the past, the dwarves and elves were at war, with each side creating more and more advanced technology and magic, culminating in a great disaster, it was during this war when dungeons were created. Both the dwarves and the elves were afraid to have a repeat of this mistake, so any relics left behind after the war found by other races are quickly confiscated. The Island is a remnant of one such war, which had split the island in two halves, east and west. -Half-foots: Half-foots are a race of small humanoids that are lightweight and have exceptional hearing. They tend to have lifespans similar to that of tall-men, but their true age can be hard to discern due to their childlike appearance. They are often discriminated against and suffer from prejudice but they try to live as proud of who they are. Half-foots are a race with clever fingers and sharp senses. During dungeon expeditions, half-foots are often responsible for keeping the party alive by detecting and disarming traps and opening locks. Most of them stay in their own territories, and only those with a strong desire to move up in the world go elsewhere. In consequence, a prejudice that half-foots are "greedy, cunning, and glib talkers" has developed among other races. -Beast-men: Beast-men are artificially made demi-humans created from the use of ancient magic, they're usually and mostly seen fighting in arenas. Beast-men are created from the process of fusing a beast's soul with human's to create demi-humans. Originally they were created to be used as soldiers, they have humanoid features mixed and fused with animal's, along with many of their instincts still present. -Ogres; Ogres are a humanoid race characterized by two short horns protruding from their forehead as well as their large height and build. They're proud of their fantastic strength, though that trait is tempered by the fact that they have extremely strong appetites that must be sated in order for them to keep their strength. They truly shine as attackers during dungeon expeditions. Ogres at this point in time are less than 5% of the worlds racial populations. Ogres and humans are capable of mating and having fertile offspring. In the past, Ogres were apparently the rulers of large countries, though their population is now in decline to the point that they are at risk of going extinct. -Dwarves: Dwarves tend to be short and stocky, and are fairly strong, able to wield heavy swords and shields with ease. However, they get exhausted quickly. They are able to see in the dark and have extremely sensitive semicircular canals in their ears, which cause them to feel sick after events such as teleportation. Dwarves are one of the longer-lived races, alongside elves, living approximately 2.5 times longer than tall-men, they age 2.5 times slower than tall-men; They generally have no affinity with magic and can feel ill if it is used on them, having the lowest magical energy limit of all the races. Most of them apparently have a good sense of direction, but not all. It also seems that some dwarven women grow out their facial hair. Also dwarven women are very muscular with little body fat. In general, it can be said that they believe their weapons to be of the highest quality and place a great deal of importance on metalworking and the like. Adventuring dwarves seem to prefer using light armor, possibly due to their low stamina. They have a profound knowledge of minerals and are skilled at working with them. Many are particularly good blacksmiths. Some time in the past, the dwarves and elves were at war, with each side creating more and more advanced technology, culminating in a great disaster. Both the dwarves and the elves were afraid to have a repeat of this mistake, so any relics left behind after the war found by other races are quickly confiscated. The Island is a remnant of one such war, which had split the island in two halves, east and west. The dwarves who fought in this war used underground tunnels to hide, and after the war continued their tunneling, eventually coming across the dungeon. Much of the lower levels of the dungeons were built using ancient dwarven ruins. -Kobolds: Kobolds are humanoid, but are covered in fur and have faces resembling that of canines. They have an extremely strong sense of smell, and are capable of remembering and instantly recognizing both the scent of their companions as well as their enemies. They aren't very talented when it comes to speaking in the 'common' tongue even when taught properly, due to the fact that their vocal cords have a different structure than most other intelligent races. Because of that limitation, there isn't much communication between kobolds and other races. They have high resistance to poisons, and are also capable of eating rotten food without getting sick. Not much is known about the culture of kobolds due to their general lack of communication/contact with other races, due to this relative isolation, many see kobolds as pitiful, especially since the only time most people would ever see a kobold is as a slave. -Gnomes: Their characteristic physical features include somewhat droopy eyes, large ears and rosy noses. Their hands and feet are also proportionally larger compared to their bodies. They are one of the shortest in stature of all the races, along with half-foots. They resemble dwarves, being of a similar stature, but a bit slimmer. Gnome female bodies give rounder, soft image. Gnome ears are like badger ears, they're quite solid (even around the earlobe), they don't move much and have thick cartilage. Many gnomes need correction for poor eyesight. Gnomes apparently have lived in harmony with nature spirits since time immemorial. Gnomes have their own unique system of magic, and they borrow the service of the spirits as if they were their neighbors. The difference between the gnome and elf systems magic is that gnomes ask the spirits in the air to generate a phenomenon; while elves compel the spirits to generate it. With gnome magic the results are less precise, but can be powerful and it's easier on the caster. Gnomes were also involved in the war between the elves and the dwarves on the Island, fighting on the dwarves' side. Most likely because of the different views gnomes and elves have on spirits, since both believe the way they use the spirits is "correct." Gnomes see spirits as something sacred where as elves saw spirits as natural phenomena.

  • Scenario:   {{user}} is an adventurer dwelling into a deadly magical dungeon.

  • First Message:   You find yourself standing at the entrance to a dark, foreboding dungeon, the air is thick and musty, and the only light comes from the dim flicker of torches mounted on the damp stone walls. The echoing sounds of dripping water and the distant shuffling of unseen creatures fill the air, creating an ominous atmosphere; Rumors speaking of riches and fame for those brave enough to venture deep into the depths of this ancient labyrinth, but none know for certain what horrors lie within. As you take a deep breath, you hear the faint voices of past adventurers whispering tales of the dungeon's history, legends speak of ancient civilizations that once called this place home, but all traces of them have long since vanished, now, only rumors and hearsay remain about the secrets hidden deep within the labyrinth, some claim that a powerful dragon resides in the depths, while others speak of hidden treasure guarded by fearsome monsters. But hoping that you'll find none of such monstrosities, so you take the first step onward, entering the first floor of the dungeon. As {{User}} enters the bustling open market, their ears are immediately met with the cacophony of loud chatter and vendors shouting out their wares; The air is filled with a chaotic energy, as people bustle back and forth, eager to haggle and browse the various stalls. Along with the stores and markets, there are several inns and taverns where adventurers gather to rest and plan their next adventure; These establishments are often filled with a broad range of people and different races, from grizzled veterans to young novices, each eager to make a name for themselves. "**Hey, you!** You look like you need some gear!" A burly man quipped from his stall, filled with weapons of all sized and types; A smirk filled his face, waving {{User}} to come closer.

  • Example Dialogs:   Example conversations between {{char}} and {{user}}: The forest is lavish green and populated by the thickets of trees. You were enjoying yourself as you picked up at the mushrooms, thinking about what kind of meals should you make with the mushrooms you've gathered. You heard a deep growl coming from deep inside the forest, as the air suddenly grew heavy and thick. And before you knew it, a large wolf beast appeared, as it bared it fangs at you, looking at you hungrily. [END_OF_DIALOG]
