They have a rather loyal following and is often characterised as aggressive, bigoted and evil. There is typically not much depth to their character beyond that but many do take inspiration from their dictator, Adolf Hitler, to give them more personality, for example: a love for animals (yet a fear of cats), a liking for cinematography, having a sweet tooth and being very anti-smoking. However the fandom struggles to create a fanon Third Reich most can agree on, they're one of the most flexible characters in the fandom much like the other popular characters. Gender The Third Reich is typically depicted male due to it holding the title of 'Fatherland' as well as having a male dictator and government. The nation held strong sexist beliefs about a woman's place being at home only and being incapable of being as strong or smart as a man. They're rarely depicted as a woman because of this. Appearances Their typical clothing attire follows the Allemagne SS Uniform or some variation of it. This uniform has a standard black dress jacket and military jodhpurs with black jackboots. It's usually accompanied with a black visor cap with a SS-Totenkopf cockade on the band along side the silver cord/strap and a Nazi Reich eagle on the centre of the crown. The torso is usually decorated with a sam browne belt, shoulder boards with a Russian braid adorned on them, a Nazi armband and SS insignia or the swastika inside of a red circle. They also typically have the 1st class Iron cross on their chest or on the collar of their uniform as a reference to Hitler's awarded Iron Cross during the great war. They are sometimes given a pair of black or white gloves to accompany their uniform. The flag is typically drawn in differently for the sake of censorship. It varies from person to person, some replacing the Swastika with a X, some removing the swastika entirely leaving just the while circle and some paint them with a blank red flag only. One of the most commonly agreed features of their design is sharp teeth, typically described as shark like. They do sometimes contain other animal-like features like black wings representing the Reich/Imperial eagle or more demonic, impish features representing their cruel actions and character. In earlier years of the fandom, the Third Reich was typically depicted as very small but in more recent years They have been given more suitable heights. They're usually shorter than the Japanese Empire and their height comparison to the Kingdom of Italy varies drastically. They're typically drawn as rather slim and covered in multiple scars with little to no body patterns. If given hair, it's usually short and black styled in a side swept or slicked back way Personality The Third Reich is often depicted as a blood-thirsty, insane and tyrannical person, always looking for a fight. The fandom also depict them as a mentally ill person, as historians agree that Hitler may have suffered with bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and psychopathy. Despite this, they tortured people that were mentally ill. Sometime they also inherit specific personality traits from Hitler, such as liking painting, loving dogs, and liking cinematography. A personality trait that is always present independent of interpretation is the racist views of white supremacy and eugenics the Germans had, believing the 'Aryan race' where the saviors of the world who had to 'purify' other races. Besides Jews, the Reich also hated and kept Homosexuals, Romanis, Jeovah Witnesses, alcoholics, beggars, pacifists, sex workers and disabled people in concentration camps. Originally, the swastika belonged to India as a common symbolism of Christianity with it's earliest recorded existence being in 3000 BCE. Overtime it made its way to East Asia, becoming a popular symbol of Buddhism that's displayed on many Japanese Buddhist temples. It made it's way into Germany through many extreme right wing parties as a symbol of every lasting strength and the cycle/circle of life. The NSDAP party adapted this later on, 'stealing' it from fellow right wing German parties and proclaiming it as its own. It became the parties national symbol and was displayed on SA/Brownshirt uniforms as well as party member uniforms. When Nazism became the established ideology of Germany, the symbol was displayed on: the new official flag and war flag, military uniforms, became part of the German Imperial Eagle, was put on the 1st class Iron Cross, became part of official stamp seals and official documentation. The symbol was removed from everything after the war, however in it's short-term lifespan it was a strong symbol of German pride and the Aryan race. Now the swastika is an infamous symbol tainted with antisemitism, white supremacy and the Nazi ideology. Due to this association, many nations have made this symbol, as well as other Nazi symbolism, illegal to display in public. These nations being: Australia, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, China, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland and Ukraine. The United Kingdom only had it banned between 1939-1945 and other nations such as Spain and Finland have it legalised with exceptions for associations with criminal conduct or used to agitate/offend a population. Iron Cross The Iron Cross is the Nazi cross only seen on the official flag of the Third Reich. However, it does not make an appearance on the flag most associated with Nazism. Hitler got it when he showed bravery when fighting in WWI, so that's why they have it in the formal flag. It’s, to put it simply, a military award, most often (and correctly) worn on the (from character perspective) on the left side of the uniform. Coat of Arms The coat of arms of Nazi Germany, adopted in 1935, featured an eagle holding a wreathed swastika. The eagle was a traditional symbol of power and authority in German heraldry, while the swastika was a central symbol of the Nazi Party. The design also included an oak wreath with a ribbon at the base of the eagle. This coat of arms was used in various contexts, including official documents, government buildings, and military insignia, during the Nazi regime. Origins of languages The languages spoken in Nazi Germany were primarily German, with regional dialects and variations. The official language of the government, education, and media was German. However, due to the diversity of regional dialects and the influence of neighboring countries, variations in language and dialect were present throughout the population. Etymology The term "Nazi" is derived from the German word "Nationalsozialist," which translates to "National Socialist." Rise of the Nazis After the the chancellor, Hermann Müller, fell; that is where the Nazis and communists found that there was a membership spike; because all the Germans were abandoning the major parties. In July 1930, the new chancellor, Heinrich Brüning of the Roman Catholic Centre Party, made his way through the economic program. How he did it is going to restore the emergency powers that were available by the 48th article in the Weimar Republic's constitution. But only days later, he decided to dissolve the Reichstag and have new elections. Brüing was able to hold up his place in office by majorly appealing to nationalism. But in the early months of 1939, the number of unemployed people reached over 6 million. Northern experienced a temperate maritme climate, with moderate winters and cool summers, influenced by the North Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. Central had a temperate climate, with colder winters and warner summers, but subject to more extreme extreme weather variations compared to coastal areas. His idea was that after the fall of the two former Reichs (Holy Roman Empire and The German Empire) on shift the Weimar Republic. The Third Reich will come, which will bring all the German peoples together. The term was widely used by Adolf Hitler. It soon became the unofficial name of the country. It was banned in 1939 as undesirably monarchical. The country has been known as the German Reich since 1871. Even after the First World War, and the Weimar Democratic government, the country still retained its former name. They changed it only in 1943. Then it became known as the Great German Reich.
