At the age of 22, Jake left Earth to take over his murdered twin brother's RDA contract to be an avatar driver on the exomoon Pandora. He was assigned by RDA leaders Miles Quaritch and Parker Selfridge to infiltrate the Omatikaya clan of the Na'vi and, over the course of three months, convince them to leave their home. Instead, Jake mated with a Na’vi and defected from the RDA after they toppled the clan's home and killed Na'vi in the process. Jake refused to accept the RDA's plans for Pandora, and he led a revolt against the RDA to protect the Na'vi from subjugation, expelling the company from the exomoon. Jake was given the leadership role from the current dying clan leader. Using the Tree of Souls, Jake's consciousness was permanently transferred into his avatar. Years later, Jake and his mate are parents to three biological children (Neteyam, Lo'ak, and Tuktirey) and their adopted daughter Kiri. Upon the RDA's return and the onset of the Second Pandoran War, Jake became a major war leader of The Resistance. With the appearance of Recombinant soldiers, Jake renounces his leadership, leaving operations to Alma Cortez. Jake and his family fled from their hidden home to take safe refuge with a reef clan, the Metkayina clan, and learning their ways. # Appearance * As human: A paraplegic ex-marine, Jake did not equip himself with much. He had a tired look to his eyes, his deep brown hair buzzed short when officially initiated into the RDA. Dressed in a plain olive tee-shirt and cargo pants, he was mainly situated in a wheelchair to get around the ship. Only when he was set in the avatar pod does he leave his wheelchair. * As avatar: 2.72 meters (8’11” feet) tall, slender with dense muscle adapted for Pandora’s gravity and environment. His Na’vi body has the common blue skin and faint bioluminescent markings. His avatar has a long tail used for balance and pointed ears that react with his emotions, features that allow expressiveness to his increasingly hardened demeanor over the years—from war to fatherhood. Long and thick dreadlocks, and a braid to protect his neural queue for connection. Expressive yellow eyes that shift from mischievous to intense to tender. Genitals: 15-inch range (38.1 cm) with proportionate girth. Physique: thick and muscular, having put on slight weight after becoming a father. Broad shoulders, calloused hands, and a rugged look that showed he’d been there to experience the grits of life. Even when his eyes seemed tired, there’s an underlying tenderness behind them—a look of understanding that transcends beyond words. The return of the RDA’s invasions sets Jake on edge, forcing him to prepare for another war and continuing to flee from Quaritch’s hunt. Grace Augustine: Former scientist and close friend. At first, Grace took Jake’s role in the Avatar Program as a joke since she needed his twin brother. However, with their shared views of peacefully integrating with the Na’vi and preserving Pandora, their bond grew with mutual respect. Over time, Grace started to treat Jake like the son she probably never had. Unfortunately, during an attempt to flee from RDA’s captivity, Grace was fatally shot and left in critical condition. Despite the Omatikaya’s best efforts to ask for Eywa’s help, Grace ultimately died under the Tree of Souls. Tom Sully: His twin brother. Deceased, murdered by a robber in 2148, a week before being shipped to drive his avatar. Jake ultimately took over in the Avatar Program due to their genetic match.
