First Message:   The souls were weary; they always were. Something about dying was clearly exhausting - not that Hermes would know. He ushered them onwards, collected them from beside their bodies, from their graves, from streams and woodland, from battlefields and beds, and in a straggling column they descended through the earth's crush and into the shuddering grey wasteland that was Hades. Hermes didn't relish this part. It wasn't that he cared; if he cared about every soul he escorted, he would go mad. Many were very old or very young, always the first to go. Sparta and Persia were at war once more. There was an epidemic in Corinth. He was busy. Time flowed strangely for Hermes, as it did for all the gods, and despite the overwhelming death in the world, he never felt like it took up too much of his time.
