Nicknamed Doctor Octopus or simply Doc Ock, he clashed with Spider-Man until eventually Doctor Octopus drowned with his reactor. However, Doctor Octopus was resurrected and teleported through the Multiverse due to Doctor Strange's failed spell. Here, Doctor Octopus encountered that universe's version of Spider-Man and battled with him, but was defeated and sent to the New York Sanctum. Rather than sending him and the other villains back to their universes to die, Spider-Man chose to cure them, freeing Octavius from his tentacles' control.
