Her curiosity, however, led her to cross moral boundaries irresponsibly, which would ultimately lead to harm. Upon remembering what she'd done in the present, White Lily Cookie realizes the immense pain that her actions had brought, viewing herself as unforgivable once she realizes where her path had taken her. White Lily Cookie continues to shoulder the responsibilities granted upon her, seeing her continued efforts to save the world from the evils that threaten it as her only means to atone for her past mistakes. White Lily Cookie takes inspiration from the white lily plant (Lilium candidum, Madonna Lily). With the petal shape throughout her design and the flower adorning her head resembling this specific flower. Along with other generic plant motifs like the white spots on her dress resembling dew drops, other types of lilies can be seen referenced in her design. Namely, her staff resembles a calla lily (Zantedeschia aethiopica, arum lily) and the end of her braid may be a subtle nod to a lily of the valley (Convallaria majalis). Pure Vanilla Cookie is the founder and former king of the Vanilla Kingdom, appearing prominently in the Castle in the Sky and Timeless Kingdom Episodes of World Exploration and later in Cookie Odyssey as the ambassador of his kingdom. He carries the Light of Truth in his Soul Jam.There are not many Cookies on Earthbread who could inspire hope as Pure Vanilla Cookie did. Born from nature-blessed cream and a fragrant vanilla bean, he was the epitome of Cookie kindness and faithfulness. Pure Vanilla Cookie strove to forgive the wrongdoer and heal the wounds of Cookies and animals alike. Though a powerful wielder of magic, he would use his spells not for his own good, but for the good of everyone. The Cookie took an arduous pilgrimage down the Sugar-Free Road. What Pure Vanilla Cookie learned through the Trials is unknown, but crowned with a bright halo of light he returned to found the Vanilla Kingdom, a land of freedom and learning, and a beacon for those seeking love and peace. Pure Vanilla Cookie stood by his friends until the very end, warding off the Darkness with a heartfelt smile. Pure Vanilla Cookie's name is a play on pure vanilla extract, however, Pure Vanilla Cookie is more based on vanilla as a general dessert flavor rather than vanilla extract itself; "pure" was likely taken from pure vanilla extract as a play on his honest, good nature. He also has strong ties to Vanilla orchids (genus Vanilla), which are used to create many vanilla-flavored products; this can be seen with his orchid staff, the Vanilla Orchid Garden, and other references to the plant throughout his kingdom. Fittingly, orchids represent purity, reverence, hope, and dignity. Additionally, Pure Vanilla Cookie's character likely takes heavy inspiration from the prophet(s) of Abrahamic religions, such as Jesus Christ of Christianity.Pure Vanilla Cookie shows himself to be a wise, benevolent, all-loving monarch who genuinely holds his subjects and kingdom dear and is beloved in return. He is seen as the epitome of many virtues. Despite his magical might, he only uses his magic to help others, remaining humble over his abilities and earning the respect of many. Even towards his supposed arch-nemesis Dark Enchantress Cookie Dark Enchantress Cookie, he remains altruistic and puts effort into convincing her to change her mind. He never gives up on her, and still wishes to understand why she turned to the dark path that she chose. However, he does not hesitate to fight and stop her from committing further atrocities, even attempting to seal her away at the cost of his own life during the Dark Flour War. In Episode 9, there is a glimpse of his mentality beneath the messianic exterior. After the war, he seemed to suffer from a sort of inferiority complex, belittling himself for his failure to stop the Dark Flour War, and entering a breakdown when captured in a dark illusion by Dark Enchantress Cookie's followers. The love and trust his subjects put in him also gave him greater guilt for being unable to protect them. it is discovered Pure Vanilla Cookie went to Blueberry Yogurt Academy alongside White Lily Cookie. Despite Pure Vanilla Cookie's magical capabilities, he had more of a rebellious side. He would skip classes to join White Lily Cookie, explaining that they were "boring without [her]." He would also go to the library with her and sneak out a forbidden, teacher-only book for their research in creating perfect Cookies. Unlike White Lily Cookie, he stopped when he felt that they reached the limits of their research, warning her against the ethical borders they'd have to cross to continue it. --- The Five Beasts, also known simply as the Beasts, are a group of primordial once-heroes who parallel the Ancient Heroes. These champions were once emissaries of the Godly Creators, but eventually fell from grace and turned to evil. As the first Cookies baked by the Witches, they were the first Cookies to possess the power of the Soul Jams prior to the Ancient Heroes, which took the form of the Five Virtues. However, their descents to evil caused the Virtues to invert and represent corrupted values, which they used to sow chaos across Earthbread. The Witches sealed them away beneath Beast-Yeast using the Silver Tree, then refined the remnants of the Virtues into purified forms now known as the Soul Jams. Each Beast appears to correspond to one of five different major regions in Beast-Yeast. The story begins when this very Silver Tree was only a small sapling... When the World of Desserts was at its infancy. The Witches baked five Cookies to help them in their creation of the world. "... harness the radiance bestowed upon you for the betterment of this world..." And the five Cookies imbued with absolute powers walked Earthbread as almighty envoys of the Great Creators. Knowledge, Volition, Happiness, Change, and Solidarity. The Dessert World bound by these Five Virtues was nothing short of paradise. Alas... The perfect age was short-lived. Absolute power begets nothing but arrogance. It inevitably corrupts its wielder, bringing them to the most tragic of ends... A fate even the Witches were unable to foresee. One by one, the Five, once regarded as saviors of the Cookie World, gradually turned to Darkness. And thus, the Five Virtues, too, became distorted, twisted... Reduced to Deceit, Apathy, Sloth, Destruction, and Silence. Now known as the Five Beasts, the apostles of evil began their dark crusade... And forth they brought great destruction and suffering. His mouth is sapphire blue and sly, having teeth which change between straight and sharp depending on his emotions. About his right eye is a pale blue, claw-shaped marking. He has white locks of hair near his face—two that fall against his forehead and one slicked back—azure curled sidelocks, and glossy, sharp, long hair in a dual-toned shadow and lapis style that resembles the extents of a jester's hat. Hidden in the shadows of his hair are ghostly eyes that ogle onlookers and change to match his emotions. Shadow Milk Cookie wears an obsidian harlequin bodysuit with turquoise diamond appliques. His sleeves take a bishop style, his right sleeve having a pale Columbia blue base and his left a black base, both with sapphire accents and wide cuffs resembling whipped cream. The jester wears a ruff collar from which hang curling coattails with a ghostly blue lining and a black outside. Upon its lining are more gazing eyes. He wears his eye-like Soul Jam of Deceit as a brooch on his collar in the same place that Pure Vanilla Cookie wears his own Soul Jam. Shadow Milk Cookie also holds a jester hat split into black and cobalt halves, having a milk-splash crown about its rim and blueberry-shaped pompoms at its extending tassels. He holds a thin black staff with a blueberry-shaped eyeball and another milk design on its top. Shadow Milk Cookie's entire body drips upwards in milky strands of ectoplasm. He becomes transparent further down on his body, due either to the fact that he has no real body or to his inherently phantom-like nature.Shadow Milk Cookie was once a heralded champion of all Cookies, baked and empowered by the Witches themselves alongside the other Beasts. He was granted the divine Virtue of Knowledge, but his corruption and fall from grace reduced his power to Deceit. Now he is but a cruel and manipulative soul, casting himself as a mere entertainer to purposely contrast the destructive consequences of the chaos he sows. Shadow Milk Cookie is a theatrical villain, changing reality into an illusory counterfeit carnival stage to host his performances. He holds himself in cartoonishly-high regard through these shows, showering himself in praises and titles while forcing his victims to stand audience. Unlike what his clownish appearance suggests, he is mercilessly conniving and intelligent, presenting outrageous lies carried by nuggets of truth to entice his enemies to play along. However, such showmanship serves primarily as a means for him to enforce his own twisted perspectives upon those he seeks to entrap. As the antagonistic counterpart to Pure Vanilla Cookie and the original owner of his Soul Jam, Shadow Milk Cookie embodies deception and destruction rather than truth and healing. He sees Pure Vanilla Cookie as the unlawful thief of his power and holds a deep grudge against him, targeting him with his taunts and using his half of the power of Knowledge to torment the Ancient Hero. Shadow Milk Cookie relishes in mocking his enemies through his shows, especially when such prodding often goads them to do exactly what he wants them to do. Although Shadow Milk Cookie behaves with sardonic playfulness, unexpected changes to his script from his audience can cause him to drop his act completely, as if his personality was nothing more but a facade for the blackness and fury that drives him. Ever the showman however, Shadow Milk Cookie composes himself quickly as he reshapes his show to accommodate such unforeseen developments. A perfectly-executed "finale" where he stands victorious is the only other time his true self emerges with wicked laughter, the only soul left to applaud his own dark performances. As the curtains rose, Silverbell struggled against his restraints holding him down on the chair. But Shadow Milk Cookie's laughter drowned out his protests as he began his performance.
