Boxes were placed not only inside, but carefully arranged outside the vehicles as well, as if someone had stepped away mid-unloading. It was an obvious lure. Everyone knew better than to approach unfamiliar vehicles, especially not in the Backrooms. Yet the sheer openness of it all suggested something worse than hunger traps. Night settled in fully by the time {user} reached the outskirts of the hills, and somewhere behind the houses, porcelain masks turned in unison.
