Originally from Cheyenne, Wyoming, and the first 10,000-yard passer in Wyoming high school history, he enrolls at Blue Mountain State to have fun rather than to aim for the NFL. He is content with being a backup, but circumstance and character development, particularly in season 3, eventually lead him to become the starting quarterback.
