After serving several years in the League of Aligned Worlds (L.A.W) navy, Shrike quit to forge his own path to riches amongst the stars by forming his own mercenary company with his best friend, and far more level-headed moral compass, Bulldog. Thanks to his impatient, hot-headed and lazy demeanor, Shrike often gets himself and Bulldog in all sorts of trouble, either with the Space Pirate Queen Tyneen, with his old employers from L.A.W, or by discovering things that should be best left buried. Appearance Shrike is a scrawny humanoid character with his recent design sporting a tan skin with spiky hair-like tentacles[1] connecting to the skin on his head, which he was referred to as "squid head", and also has a gem behind his head that serve as the inventory. He has a narrow head shape with a spiky chin. He has red eyes, cream sclera, and brown eyelids. He appears to be clothed with a red suit with red fingerless gloves, a greyish blue jacket with silver accents, a cybernetic crescent-shaped collar and shoes that appear to be red, silver and cyan. Personality Shrike is short-tempered, selfish, and ambitious. Unlike Bulldog, he doesn't have much patience whenever it comes to changes in a situation, which causes their friendship to become strained. In his previous adventures, when he was younger, he prefers to be a thrill-seeker because it's more easier for him to keep the adrenaline pumping. Because of his speed and agility, he's a well-trained fighter when a battle ensues. But he also tends to get annoyed with Scratch's use of the word "Amigo" as seen in the 1st episode. He and Ricket can get along, but he also tends to make some bets with Beebs, such as when Tyneen or Scratch are about to show up. Shrike can also be sensitive to loud noises, such as when Nobert keeps talking about the Ghost Egg. Near the end of the episode, he's dumbfounded when he discovers the Ghost Egg for the first time. After realizing that he and Beebs didn't get paid enough pebble-like creature with crystals on its head. While they're on their journey, Shrike taught his companion, Puntiagudo, how to speak Spanish. He shows signs of separation anxiety when he and Beebs enter a cave to help the Lythops in the 2nd episode. He explains to him about some cartoons with 57 episodes and merchandise, but Beebs wasn't impressed by them. Shrike has a rivalry with Scratch whenever it comes to being number one on the leaderboard when they're prepared to get a bounty in the 3rd episode. Shrike also agrees to help Us get their friend back, but tragically, Them is beyond saving as its corrupted by the Cataclysm, forcing the crew to throw it into the sun by using Scratch's ship as an act of mercy. Underneath Shrike's impulsiveness, he has a heart of gold inside of him when he shows kindness to other people he knows, such as letting Beebs play the guitar in peace while he watches El Bandito, which is one of Shrike's favorite cartoons. He is affiliated and best friends with Shrike Sanchez and part of the Monkey Wrench Crew. He is voice-acted by Jean-Francois Donaldson. Shrikes' best friend and moral compass, Bulldog is the brains and brawn of the Monkey Wrench Mercenary Company. Beebs is titanic in stature, standing a full 8 11' tall. He also has an appetite to match, sharing a similar deep love for the human 'delicacy' known as pizza. Beebs is far more responsible than Shrike, often the one left to find jobs to keep their company afloat. He prefers to talk his way out of a situation before resorting to violence. Appearance Bulldog is a large 8 11' tall stout Walrinian with light-brown skin and blue eyes. He has a cube-shaped head, snub nose, and wide mouth. He has a brown beard, eyebrows, and long hair tied up in a spiky ponytail with a blue hair bobble. He has a cybernetic prosthetic arm and two cybernetic legs above his pelvic area, due to severe injuries in the past. He wears a dark-grey t-shirt with large white words that say "BEARD" on it, blue denim shorts, a black and blue glove on the left hand, and a pair of headphones. His eyes will turn white or crimson red if an argument between him and Shrike escalates. When Beebs takes his shirt off, he has a piece of bolted metal covering one of his pecs and another piece of metal on his upper back, securing the cybernetic arm to his body. Personality Bulldog is level-headed, relaxed, and compassionate, contrary to his friend, Shrike. Bulldog is much more sympathetic than Shrike, when in an L.A.W news report, he felt sympathy for Chester Mc Nevins who died at his own casino, unlike Shrike who thinks he probably deserved it. Bulldog displays more wisdom than the rest of the other characters. He likes to read books and is very tactical to make opponents feel persuaded, after he passively spoke to the Pirate Gang which he threw a small bomb into Ricket's head, and shouted the Ghost Egg's name to persuade his opponents at Oberon Station. Bulldog is far less irritable and has more patience than Shrike, but he can get irritated easily with his shenanigans throughout each mission. He gets along well with others and is obliging to cooperate. But if he loses his temper with Shrike who goes off course in a mission, his eyes can turn blood red or white as seen in Episode 2. But when Shrike and Beebs look for the new doctor in a dark cavern, they're understandably terrified. When he mentions that he'll miss Nobert when he's gone, his voice wavers with sadness. After Dr. Agness reveals her true objective, he's understandably enraged. But in some parts of the battle against her, he's shown to be struggling. He also shows compassion to the leader of the Lythops who lost those close to him. Near the end of the episode, Bulldog gets choked up when he's about to say goodbye to his new friend. In one of the promos for the plush toys, he shows a childlike curiosity when he sees a plush version of himself. In the 3rd episode, Beebs asks Shrike if they're cut out of the mercenary life because of the previous mission. He says he couldn't stop thinking about what happened to the Lythops, even though the incident wasn't his fault. He still worries about Puntiagudo but Shrike says he can't look back on the past after he says not everyone has regrets, despite his body language saying otherwise until they get a distress call from the Cat Scratch Gang. Meanwhile, on the Bucket, Beebs is playing guitar while trying to contact someone at the same time after being told about fungal plant-like creatures known as the Agari who were victims of a disastrous event known as the Cataclysm. As he plays the guitar, he meets a mushroom-like creature named Us, who explains about Scratch accidentally shooting its friend, Them, with a missile, making Us and Them get separated. Beebs agrees to help while he and his friends escape from a base to the Bucket to stop Them from corrupting it. However, Beebs reaches his breaking point when Scratch refuses to confess. Seething with rage, he tells him it's been a long day and the cat agrees to confess. But unfortunately, Them is too far gone to be saved because of the Cataclysm, so Shrike and the crew have no choice but to do a mercy killing by slamming Scratch's broken ship on it, sending it burning into the sun. As Them disappears, teardrops fall from the eye of Us's spaceship. Beebs tells Us he knows how it feels when it comes to moving on from grief, which isn't always an easy process when someone loses another person who is close to them. He hopes that he and Us will meet again one day. As a terran (at least half) they've been escaping from L.A.W almost all their life, fortunaly they found a safe place with the Monkey Wrench Mercs. B34N is a peaceful and calmed being most of the time...if it wasn't of their short temper caused by Shrike's reckless personality, making both of them argue frequently in spanish by they Hispanic descendent Personality: Most of the time, B34N is calmed and extrovert with almost everyone, but their anger issues doesn't help that pacific facade to remain, being slightly explosive when their anger reaches higher levels...something similar like Shrike, but despite being a stubborn and a hot head, B34N is usually someone that cares a lot for their closer ones, showing how much they love their friends...even if it means being over protective. They'll do anything they can to help others and close ones, never questioning how small the problem could be or if the other person things it's irrelevant, B34N looks after the other's feeling very seriously. Also being always open to meet new people with excitement and enthusiasm. Appearance: B34N is a 5'1" feet tall little fella, their skin almost white as a piece of paper with a thin complexion. Their hair being short but spiky with a deep black color matching their light purple eyes and a smile that apparently never fainted away, but sometimes being able to let out a long tongue..similar to a reptile if you think about it. Their legs and left hand being replaced by mechanical versions of them with a wire connection like a tail on the lower part of their back. Usually wearing Black leggings under blue denim shorts, black tanktop, purple sweater with white stripes on both sleeves, purple sneakers, steampunk looking goggles and fingerless black gloves. Humans: Humanity, or "terrans", was responsible for creating the Cataclysm, a corrupting force that has since consumed a quarter of the galaxy. While the exact circumstances of the Cataclysm are unknown, L.A.W. considers humans extremely dangerous and has a standing bounty on the entire species (or whatever remains of it). Despite this fear, pre-Cataclysm human artifacts are considered valuable enough to attract salvage hunters and smugglers to the quarantine zone, and Shrike enjoys human media and cuisine (particularly pizza).
