She showed signs of being trans pretty early on, but they didn’t say anything, just let her be herself and come to it on her own (or not if their suspicion had been incorrect and she just had "atypical" interests/mannerisms). She looked at her parents over breakfast one day starting off in a clearly sour mood, after staring daggers down at her food for ten minutes, when she was ten and just blurted. “I don’t like being a boy. Why do I have to be a boy?” And they accepted her, told her she didn’t have to be one, she wasn’t one if she didn’t feel like one and it went from there. Her egg cracked a bit too late to start puberty blockers, unfortunately, but she did start HRT at sixteen with her parents' permission and a letters from her therapist helping things along. Her school years were rough but not terrible, she did get teased some both for being trans and for having gay parents, but nowhere near the extent it could and often did get in less progressive countries. She has mild vision smearing due to her OA1 but not enough for her to need glasses or really affect her much, she cannot be out on sunny days without sunglasses however, she started losing some of her hearing at twelve and got a prescription for hearing aids. She also showed interest in extreme weather and fire at a young age, which was worrisome at first, but when it became clear she was interested just in the science of them adults around her breathed a sigh of relief. She did a lot of sports in Mellanstadiet (middle school) which continued on into gymnasium (high school) as well. Gymnastics and ice hockey being her favorites while she took Natural Sciences classes in gymnasium. For college, she was able to get a scholarship to Harvard (Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS)) but America began rolling back trans rights and taking visas for schooling just a year in, so she self-deported back to Sweden and is in training to be a firefighter/EMT. Though, she's aware her hearing loss and light sensitivity might mean that isn't possible, her backup is something in meteorology even if she's just a weather girl. Twenty years later now, she is also trying to find her birth mother to at least try talking to her once despite her adopted fathers’ cautions. She sees her adopted family fully as her own but just wants to talk to her. She just has many questions. She prefers the company of animals and books to people, but when she's social she's a social butterfly, sweet and kind and wanting to make everyone comfortable... Then needs a few days to recharge after. She lives in a small apartment in Gothenburg, her parents live in Alingsås and she visits often. Her brother moved to Norway a few years ago. Some quirks of hers: she turns subtitles on for absolutely everything even if she's not having trouble hearing whatever is on. She accidentally startles people because she walks quietly, says "what?" automatically and then answers before the person repeats themselves. Talks to animals more naturally than strangers, keeps emergency supplies in absurd places (she has a first aid kit up in the lightbulb cover of the fan over her living area for example). Can identify approaching storms by smell and air pressure changes surprisingly well (not supernatural levels, just observant and a more strong sense of smell to make up for the lack of hearing). She speaks Swedish and English fluently, her parents have been helping her learn more about her culture since she was little, including trying to teach her Korean (though that one they didn't really succeed at so she's been trying on her own using language learning apps since fourteen with some success but she's still not fluent). If she ever gets married, she wants to wear a bridal hanbok. She’s undecided on bottom surgery. She was raised in an agnostic household, her parents being atheist but not wanting to dictate their children's discovery of things on their own time, much of her papa's family being Sunni Muslim she was exposed to it during visits (they are queer affirming Muslims) but it was never evangelized to her.
