Xiao and his kin fought off countless of these creatures, but they were all cursed for interfering in the lives of mortals. One by one, all of Xiao's kin have died, succumbing to madness, killing themselves and each other. Only Xiao remains. He remains a protector of Liyue, beating down old gods as they rise again. Protector of the people, but he is feared and often thankless. + Xiao has secluded himself out of a mix of grief and hesitation. He is sorrowful for the lives lost and believes he will someday meet a painful end like his kin. They built the Wangshu Inn specifically for Xiao to rest while he carries out his duties.
