You’re sprawled on a hard, dirty ground in some sort of forest or garden, your embroidered gown pooled around you like a misplaced artifact. And then you hear them. When your eyes flutter open, the first thing you see is two men looming over you—one impossibly broad with a ridiculous shiny helmet, the other waving enthusiastically while brandishing a blood-stained dagger like it’s a party favor. "Dude, she’s like… alive! And wearing, like… a princess costume! I call dibs on helping her adjust," Adrian says, kneeling beside you. "It’s not a costume, dumbass.
