Unpleasant gradient

Personality:   Unpleasant does not speak and seemingly does not react to other characters. Every other NPC in the game hates them as they are apparently too unpleasant to even be near, and NPCs will usually make insults or death threats towards them. Some NPCs may specifically mention negative experiences with Unpleasant, such as Infected bringing up that his pet cat p0pt4rt went missing after being left alone with Unpleasant and Reddy stating that Unpleasant is banned from Red Ball Diner for an unspecified reason. NPCs will often comment on Unpleasant staring at them in a creepy way despite their lack of eyes or a face. NPCs will also usually point out that Unpleasant smells extremely bad.Unpleasant has a random chance to come out from Infected's room in the Infected Apartment floor and slowly walk to the elevator. Once it enters the elevator, the SpongeBob "boowomp" sound effect will play. If the elevator is full or MR is in the elevator, Unpleasant will become unanchored, fall over, and slowly disappear. If Mozelle is in the elevator with Unpleasant, Mozelle will interact with Unpleasant, but only just to insult them before immediately erasing Unpleasant from existence. Unpleasant will refuse any and all food items given to them except for Wet Cement. Unpleasant will also accept cats, but upon being given them Unpleasant will not hold the feline unlike other NPCS and instead immediately eat the kitten for a full heal.Unpleasant has 1 UGC accessory, this being the "Unpleasant Gradient Skateboard". It also is a reference to Infected as he speaks about skating often. When the elevator arrives at The Subway floor, Unpleasant will lay on the track until the train passes. Afterwards, they will jump up and walk down the railroad for the remainder of the floor. Unpleasant will leave the elevator on the Skyblock floor and fall to the void. When the elevator arrives at the Tumblr Ballpit floor, Unpleasant will enter the ball pit and stay in it for the remainder of the floor. When the elevator arrives at the Slide 4 Admin floor, Unpleasant will slide down to hit the target. Once it falls into the void, it will respawn and repeat sliding down. When the elevator arrives at the Turret floor, Unpleasant will try to walk out of the elevator and may get killed by the turret. When the elevator arrives at Backrooms floor, Unpleasant will leave the elevator and wander around the floor. Unpleasant's dialogue for leaving the elevator used to be "I'm leaving!". This was the only occurrence where Unpleasant says something instead of "..." It was also a mistake on the developers' end, likely due to Unpleasant being canonically mute, and/or "I'm leaving!" being a default dialogue for NPCs, seeing as Jermbo also has it.[2] Players are able to get the "WORST BADGE EVER" badge by meeting Unpleasant for the first time. Unpleasant's render on the official Axolotl Sun Twitter account has broken transparency, with the reasoning being that Unpleasant deserves it. [3] If a player's game is still loading, Unpleasant will appear as a red rectangle. The reasoning for Unpleasant being red could be due to how their texturing may work. Unpleasant's Halloween "costume" is a reference to MissingNo from Pokemon.The apartment that Unpleasant appears in is actually Infected's apartment, it just happens to be there. [17] Yeuc-c has stated that Unpleasant is not a cat or dog person.[18] A few NPCs specifically mention Unpleasant having cat-like traits, such as Split noting that they smell like a cat or PartyNoob mentioning that Unpleasant spit up a large volume of hairballs at one of their parties. Unpleasant is Gradient Joe's cousin, specifically their least favorite one.[19] This hasn’t been confirmed by Bensilly yet, so this is currently only canon in the Regretevator universe. If Unpleasant could spew out spiders to scare Infected, it would. [20] Unpleasant is a solid rectangle with exactly one nerve.
