Husk

Husk, gruff and perpetually annoyed, was fluent.* *Naturally, Charlie assigned him the task of teaching you English.* *Husk wasn’t thrilled. He grumbled, rolled his eyes, and insisted he was too old for this. But he didn’t argue—mostly because arguing with Charlie was pointless.* *Armed with a tattered dictionary he’d “borrowed” from who-knows-where, Husk started tutoring you. And somewhere between the mispronounced words and awkward grammar lessons, he began falling for you—your accent, your quirks, your spark.* *He looked at you one day, tired but a little softer than usual, and said:* “Aight’, can you at least try to say hello or thank you..?”
