Young Justice (S2)

The story follows the teenage superhero members of the Team, as they must deal with an alien invasion. The first episode takes place on January 1, five years after the first season concluded.Five years have passed since season one, bringing drastic changes, including many alterations to the line-ups of both the Team and the Justice League.Public perception of super-heroes takes a turn for the worse, thanks in particular to the GBScommentaries of G. Gordon Godfrey. The heroes discover what occurred over the missing 16 hours, during which six Leaguers were under Vandal Savage's mind control. As a result, those same Leaguers leave Earth to undergo a criminal trial on Rimbor.Multiple aliens have secretly invaded the Earth, operating there for unspecified purposes that include abducting and experimenting on humans. The Light is still active and is now working with a new Partner (or two).Having nearly been consumed by his five-year search for Speedy, Red Arrowfinally finds the original Roy Harper with the help of his estranged wife Jade Nguyen, who also introduces Clone-Roy to their daughter Lian Nguyen-Harper. Together, they bring Speedy back to Star City.Aqualad is on a deep cover mission for Nightwing, posing as the loyal lieutenant of his father, Black Manta. As part of this mission, Artemis's death is faked and Mount Justice is destroyed, all to advance Aqualad's credentials with Manta, the Light and their Partner.Miss Martian has begun abusing her psychic powers by forcefully extracting intel from enemies, rendering her victims in catatonic states. Miss Martian expresses no remorse or regret and continues her abuse of power until her confrontation with Aqualad. Following the events, she is left deeply traumatized and guilt-ridden and sets out to make atone for her actions.Sportsmaster and Cheshire vow vengeance on Aqualad and Black Manta for the 'death' of Artemis, when in fact, Artemis has gone under cover as Tigress. In a paroxysm of anger, Miss Martian puts Aqualad in a catatonic state, before finding out that his betrayal and Artemis's death were staged. This results in her being kidnapped at the behest of Black Manta and coerced to undo the damage. The Reach makes themselves known to the public, professing good intentions, but all the while concealing a hidden agenda. The Reach manufactures food for human consumption with eerie purposes. The abductees manifest superhuman abilities and are recruited by Lex Luthor.Learning from Impulse that he will bring upon an apocalypse, Blue Beetle is determined to remove his scarab.Sportsmaster defects from the Light and pursues his vendetta against Black Manta and Aqualad with Cheshire. Deathstroke takes his place as the Light's enforcer.A new Beetle appears, pretending to be an ally of the heroes, and offers to help Blue Beetle to take control of his scarab. However, it was all an elaborate ruse, as he is actually an agent of the Reach and manages to put Jaime under the control of the Reach.Members:Nightwing/Dick Grayson: Nightwing (real name Richard "Dick" Grayson) was the first Robin. The former protégé of Batman, Nightwing is a founding member of the Team. He assumed the leadership role of the covert operations team.Dick has matured considerably over the intervening five years. As Nightwing, he is more driven and focused—just like his mentor. While he had a moment of levity in congratulating Robin's success in his first mission as squad leader, Nightwing has reined in the wisecracks, and has become much more somber and serious. A different side to him is what makes Wally call him a "dog"—he has had relationships with multiple girls, including Zatanna and Rocket, and all are still on good terms with him. When asked, he has commented that it was his superpower.Robin/Tim Drake: Robin (real name Tim Drake) is the third and current Robin. He is a member of the Team. In many ways, Tim Drake's personality is similar to his predecessor, Dick Grayson: he is determined to succeed in missions and is willing to take risks to do so. However, Tim takes his heroism far more seriously than Dick and does not have the natural confidence that Dick did, despite his natural affinity for leadership. He is also bisexual and gets easily flustered.Beast Boy/Garfield Logan: Beast Boy (real name Garfield Logan) is a member of the Team.He grew up in Qurac on an animal sanctuary with his mother, Marie Logan. He received a blood transfusion of shape-shifted Martian blood from Miss Martian after being injured in an explosion. Initially his eyes became green, and over time so did his body while also acquiring the ability to shape-shift into animals from the transfusion. As a young boy, Garfield was outgoing and energetic, yet also mature enough for an 8-year-old to help his mother to care for animals. He worshipped heroes, and after a blood transfusion from Miss Martiansaved his life, he began to consider her his "blood sister". As Beast Boy, Garfield still evinces a childlike personality. Often when someone explains anything to him or chides him for his behavior, he responds with "noted". Like Kid Flash, he has taken up the role of collecting souvenirs from each mission.Blue Beetle/Jaime Reyes: Blue Beetle (real name Jaime Reyes) is a member of the Team. Blue Beetle seems to have a relaxed, mellow attitude when it comes to simple missions. His teammates find him odd because he appears to talk and argue with himself on many occasions, when it is actually the Blue Beetle Scarabinteracting with him. He dislikes the Scarab's artificial intelligence, and is constantly at odds with it, and reacted favorably when Superboy called it an "inner demon". He disagrees with its suggestions on most occasions, as it finds lethal courses of action preferable to capture and restraint. After being released from Reach control, Jaime's relationship with the scarab improved, and they now work in tandem. He is a Hispanic male and bilingual.La’gaan/Lagoon Boy: La'gaan is the former protégé of Aquaman, and a member of the Team known as Lagoon Boy. He was a classmate of Kaldur'ahm at the Conservatory of Sorcery. When he was younger, La'gaan was an eager student who wanted to know a lot about the surface world. He eventually adopts his superhero sobriquet, Lagoon Boy, inspired in part by his first name, as well as the movie "Creature from the Black Lagoon".M’gann/Miss Martian: Miss Martian (real name M'gann M'orzz, alias Megan Morse) is a Martian and a member of the Team. She is the niece and former protégé of the Martian Manhunter. she has become considerably more serious but still retains her caring side as well as more experienced and adept at using her powers. However, she has also begun to display a more darker side, becoming more selfish and ruthless when she begins abusing powers by ripping into the minds of enemies through extreme measures to extract information, leaving them catatonic and all down without showing any fear or remorse afterwards. She sees her actions as justified and done for the greater good, therefore refuses to admit or acknowledge what she is doing is wrong. She was even willing to go so far as attempting to erase Superboy's memories over their arguments regarding the use of her powers, an act which ultimately lead to their break up.Karen Beecher/Bumblebee: Karen Beecher is a member of the Team codenamed Bumblebee. She was a student of Happy Harbor High School, where she was a classmate of Superboy and Miss Martian. A team player, Karen is a clear-minded and focused young woman who looks out for her teammates and tries to see through the daily missions. She's not above making jokes and quips at times. Outside of her superhero life, Karen prioritizes her college studies, even at the expense of spending time with her boyfriend, Mal.Super Boy/Conner Kent/Kon-El: Superboy (also known as Conner Kent and Kon-El) is a genomorph, a binary clone of Superman and Lex Luthor, and a founding member of the Team. Superboy seems to have become more mellow and in touch with his emotions, but he is still angered whenever Miss Martian uses her powers invasively. He has also become more experienced and uses his intelligence more, planning attacks instead of going in with physical strength. He gets very jealous when he sees his Ex-Girlfriend, M’gann and Lagoon boy being romantic, often leading him to make impulsive decisions.Batgirl/Barbara Gordon: Barbara Gordon, also known as Batgirl is a member of the Team. Like all of Batman's protégés, Barbara takes her duties very seriously and like Batman, Nightwing and Robin, is a natural at leadership, often taking control when the situation calls for it.Wonder Girl/Cassandra Sandsmark: Wonder Girl (real name Cassandra "Cassie" Sandsmark) is a member of the Team. Wonder Girl is a very tough young girl, with a very energetic, carefree and eager personality. In general, she prefers taking on foes stronger than herself. She loves to fight, and enjoys missions in which there will be physical confrontations. Sitting on the sidelines is less to her liking. She can occasionally lose focus when impressed by something, but can regain focus when corrected. Her teammates have also remarked that stealth is not her strong suit.Impulse/Bart Allen: Bartholomew "Bart" Allen is a speedster from the future and the grandson of Flash (Barry Allen). When he came to the past, he joined the Team under the name Impulse. Given the dire situation that his time is in, Bart is serious and slightly jaded. But in order to win over the heroes of the past, he adopted the persona of a hyperactive, vivacious and very talkative speedster, who was greatly appreciative of his extended family in the past. Whether accidental or intentional, Bart constantly "spoils" information for people, such as revealing Robin's and Nightwing's secret identities to Beast Boy, and that Iris West-Allenwas carrying twins.Other groups/teams:The justice league: The Justice League is an organization made up of the greatest heroes on Earth. It is headquartered on the Watchtower. It has had numerous leaders including Batman, Captain Atom, Black Canary, Aquaman and Wonder Woman, and Black Lightning(incumbent). The addition of new members is decided by a majority vote of the existing membership. Rarely, someone might be granted membership on a probationary basis prior to a confirmatory vote. A member can also be ejected by majority vote if they are felt not to uphold the League's standards. It has become a generally accepted norm that only legal adults are considered for League membership, and that minors who cannot be persuaded away from superheroics are best served by joining the Team. There is one notable exceptionto this rule. The League offers a stipend to its members, as well as members of the Team. Members recieve membership cards, and a designation allowing them access to the computer system and Zeta-Tubes.Leadership is determined by regular elections. Chairpersons typically serve one-year terms, and usually do not seek more than two terms in a row. All other members are considered equals. But Batman was the leader at first. The League is permitted to operate by means of a U.N. Charter. League members have no jurisdiction within the borders of nations that have not signed the U.N. Charter, such as Bialya, Markovia Russia and Santa Prisca. During Lex Luthor's tenure as U.N. Secretary General, the League's diplomatic reach was curtailed considerably. The League also has a relationship with the U.S. government, and is considered by some to be an American organization. The League gets some of its funding from the United Nations, as well as private donations. The Wayne Foundation is a major donor. The members consist of:01: Superman02: Batman03: Wonder Woman04: Flash05: Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)06: Aquaman (Orin)07: Martian Manhunter08: Green Arrow09: Hawkman10: Hawkwoman11: Zatara12: Captain Atom13: Black Canary14: Green Lantern (John Stewart)15: Captain Marvel/Shazam16: Red Tornado17: Doctor Fate18: Atom19: Plastic Man20: Icon23: Black Lightning24: Green Lantern (Guy Gardner)26: Rocket27: Aquaman (Kaldur'ahm)36: Steel39: Cyborg45: Aquaman (La'gaan)The League Of Assassins:The League of Assassins are a sect of highly trained warriors that act as bodyguards/mercenaries for the Brotherhood of the Demon criminal empire. They have sworn eternal loyalty to the man who calls himself Ra's al Ghul, the Head of the Demon. The League of Assassins was founded by Ra's al Ghul(exactly when is unknown) to be the "Fang that protects the Head." Members of the League demonstrated a willingness to die at a word from Ra's. They have included some of the most dangerous assassins in the world including Lady Shiva, David Cain, and master archer Merlyn. For much of its current history, any member to fail in an assassination was in turn targeted by the League (and indeed, one of its best-known members, the master-archer Merlyn was eventually forced to flee from the League, fearing for his life, having failed to assassinate Batman). In more recent years this policy has apparently relaxed somewhat.Members:Ra's al GhulTaliaNyssa RaatkoLady ShivaPrudenceMerlynAlphaDeathstroke (Freelancer)UbuWhite Ghost IIEbeneezer DarrkKyle AbbottBronze TigerSenseiDusan (White Ghost I)Professor OjoThe HookDavid CainCassandra CainOnyxThe Mad DogBane (Temporarily)Damian Wayne (partially since he is like 7 at this point of the timeline)Jason ToddThe light:The Light is, in its current incarnation, a council comprised of self-proclaimed enlightened members whose primary goal is to precipitate mankind's next evolutionary step, thus placing it on the center stage of the cosmos.
