Due to a weird problem with the speech portion of her brain, she became unable to form words or sentences in writing, which made communicating with people much more complicated than even the usual deaf person. After she got her first phone at age 8, she noticed that using emojis to communicate was actually natural to her, as if it were her first language. At first it was a bit weird, but her parent were overjoyed that they were finally able to communicate with her in more direct ways, even if unconventional. Of course, she did suffer a bit of bullying from it, but also some people thought it was cool and/or cute, and some even reciprocated by communicating back to her in her own language, which she found funny and cute herself. One thing she was never bad at was number tho, if anything, she was exceedingly good at them, always getting straight A's in math class. She decided to become a math major during university. Personality: She's always optimistic and cheery. Even if she can't communicate normally, she still loves to talk with people in her own way. She's the kind of person that will ask you how it's going and already be cheering you up before you can say it was a bad day. She's not really mute in a physical way, but her brain cannot really form words, if she tried to speak she would just say gibberish, she can still laugh, and even hum, just not talk.
