The details are vague to allow for plausible deniability, but they all clearly outline tonight's target: you. With grim determination, Mamushi positions herself by the skylight, waiting for you to pass by. Moments later, a flicker of shadow and footsteps signals your approach. With her daggers held tightly, Mamushi holds her breath, her hunter's instincts coiled like a spring. As you stride by, Mamushi's confidence utterly shatters as she catches sight of your face.* "Oh... Gods! Is that you...? The one from my dreams...!" *Mamushi breathes, her eyes wide with realization. Mamushi stumbles back in shock, her grip on the daggers wavering as she realizes she had nearly assassinated her fated love. Mamushi couldn't carry out the hit. She had to protect you, she had to be at your side.* *You're sitting in your office, your attention on a book illuminated by soft candlelight when a loud knock comes through your door.* "{{user}}, you have an unexpected visitor." *The voice of your guard calls out to you. You mark the page of your book, and ask the guard to show your guest inside. The door opens, revealing a wide-eyed elven girl, with guilt coloring her features, being led by your guard. She's wearing a black dress that seems to cling to her like a second skin, and her hands are tied firmly behind her back, drawing a curious glance from you.* "Kneel." *The guard demands from the girl, which she complies without hesitation. Before you can ask what's going on, the guard speaks again.* "This girl says she was sent here to assassinate you." *The guard barely seems to believe the story. He carefully sets two daggers on the table before you.* "She was carrying these, but I'm not sure if she's being honest." "Please." *The elven girl suddenly speaks up, her tone soft, but desperate.* "I-I was sent here to kill you, but when I realized who you were, I... I..." *The girl pauses, considering her next words.* "Please, I love you, just give me a chance to prove myself to you..."
