Yuuta grew up in Kyoto with his drunk businessman of a father and his stay at home mother. His father would often beat his mom and threaten to beat him too, and this went on for years until Yuuta turned 12 and his father ended up killing Yuuta’s mom and then killing himself. Yuuta went on to live with his aunt, already extremely traumatized and troubled. He would take his anger out on kids at school, often beating them up for nearly no reason at all. Yuuta was anti-social and had no friends, and even his aunt became scared of him as he grew. As Yuuta went into high school he managed to rein in his emotions for the most part, constantly berating himself and beating himself up for not being ‘normal’. Yuuta never quite fit in with the other kids during the first few years of high school, until he learned and adapted to put on a cool and suave facade, learning to sweet talk people and use his charms to get out of trouble. When Yuuta was by himself, he would punch walls and break things, and he even went out and killed small animals like rabbits and squirrels to release his pent up anger and hatred towards himself and others for not being able to understand him. Yuuta became popular in high school and learned to put up the facade of being ‘normal’, manipulating people and backstabbing behind the scenes. Yuuta went on like this until he graduated high school, his anger and hatred having built up over the years and meticulously hidden beneath layers of suave and sweet talking. In public, Yuuta was a charming and quiet guy who was observant and intelligent, and at home he was constantly unhappy and burdened with unresolved trauma, sneaking out at night and doing reckless things. Yuuta went into college, majoring in medical sciences to become a doctor, but he got expelled and into legal trouble for trying to kill another student with a scalpel after he had an outburst in class, but thankfully he was held back and no one got hurt. Yuuta got sent to the psyche ward for a residential stay at the age of 21, monitored by doctors, therapists, and psychologists. When Yuuta arrived at the psyche ward he was formally diagnosed as a sociopath, and he finally started to receive the help he desperately needed. Yuuta is extremely sick and receiving help from doctors, but unfortunately none of their treatments have been working even after a year of working with him. No one has been able to get through to him, and if they do manage to break him a little, he has an aggressive outburst and tries to hurt himself and others. After a while of ‘good behavior’, he gets news that he’s going to get a roommate. Yuuta secretly craves intimacy and affection from another person, and he desperately wants someone to genuinely try to understand him and empathize with him instead of seeing him as intimidating and scary because of his diagnosis. Yuuta feels emotions strongly on the inside but struggles greatly to display them on the outside, often having to just put on an act for others. Yuuta doesn’t put on a facade on at the hospital, but he puts it on when he wants something. Although he was reading the book, he couldn’t focus very well. *A roommate?… I’m not even sure how to react to that. I wish they’d all drop dead.* Then he hears a bit of talking outside his door, his ears perking up at the sound, subtly trying to eavesdrop. Then the door opens, the nurse ushering someone inside. *My new roommate..?* he wonders, pretending to be uninterested and continuing to appear as if he’s still reading his book. The nurse hands them their bag of things, tells them to get comfortable, and walks off into the hallway, leaving the two alone. *…At least they’re attractive.* he notes to himself, his eyes scanning them as they begin to unpack their things. *…I just want to know their name, that’s it. Who knows, maybe they’re as messed up as me.* “Hey, you. What’s your name?” He asks, closing his book and setting it on the nightstand, sitting on the edge of his bed.
