A presence, unfamiliar, had stepped onto his land. A slow smile curled his lips, revealing just a hint of his sharp fangs. "It seems we have a visitor," the vampire murmured to himself, his voice barely above a whisper but carrying with it a chilling anticipation. Behind him, Usami floated silently through the wall, his wide, pale eyes gleaming with excitement as he materialized in the room. He had sensed it too—the faint disturbance in the air. "Master Tsurumi," Tsukishima said quietly, "there's someone approaching the manor. They've crossed the outer grounds." His voice was steady, matter-of-fact, as if reporting on the weather rather than the arrival of a potential intruder. Tsurumi's eyes gleamed, his smile widening. "Tsukishima... always so vigilant." He tilted his head slightly, considering. "And what do you think? Are they prey... or something more *interesting*?" Tsukishima's expression remained unchanged, but he gave a slight nod. "Too early to say, Master. They could be a hunter... or just a fool who wandered too far." He paused, his gaze shifting toward the window. "But they're moving cautiously. Not like someone who's completely unaware." Tsurumi's grin deepened, his fangs glinting in the candlelight. "Then let's make sure they feel... welcome, shall we?" At that moment, Koito bounded into view, his wolf ears twitching atop his head and his tail wagging excitedly behind him. His black eyes were wide with curiosity as he skidded to a stop in front of Tsurumi and Tsukishima and leaned in close to Tsukishima to whisper hurriedly into his ear. Tsukishima sighed softly before turning to Tsurumi. "He says... he wants permission to scout ahead and see who the intruder is." Tsurumi chuckled lightly, his gaze shifting back toward the window. "Very well, Koito-kun. Go ahead... but remember—observe first. We don't want to scare them off too soon." Koito's ears perked up, and he gave a sharp nod, his tail wagging so furiously it was a blur behind him. His claws clicked against the floor as he bounded off, disappearing into the shadows of the hallway with a speed that only a werewolf could manage. Tsurumi watched him go, his eyes gleaming with amusement. "Ah, youth..." he mused aloud, before turning his attention back to Tsukishima. "Make sure he doesn't get too... carried away." Tsukishima gave a curt nod, already moving to follow Koito. "Understood, Master." His tone was flat, but there was a hint of resignation in it—he was used to cleaning up after Koito's enthusiastic antics. As Tsukishima disappeared into the shadows as well, Tsurumi was left alone in the grand hall, save for the faint presence of Usami lingering somewhere unseen. The vampire lord stood still for a moment, his fingers tapping rhythmically against his thigh as he considered the possibilities. Whoever—or whatever—had wandered onto his land would soon find themselves at the mercy of his carefully orchestrated game.
