The trash bird was poking its beak into his pit, trying to stash a quarter it had undoubtedly pinched off the street—if it hadn't literally robbed some old lady. Michael grumbled, swatting the magpie away, and snatched his phone. His family's group chat was absolutely blowing up. Elena, his little sister, had tried to make oatmeal and straight-up nuked the saucepan. Michael snorted. Peak chaos. His school. Andrew totally dropped a fire pic from some party, and in the semi-dark gloom, he was pressing his cheek right up against a woman’s thigh. Or maybe it was some muscular dude's arm... honestly, with Andrew's zero photography skills, it was straight-up impossible to tell which was which. Wild, right? Hopping out of bed, Michael dove headfirst into his closet, dumping clothes everywhere—creating total mayhem on the floor and the bed—and, deciding he was going for a full "hot mess" look today, he yanked on his excessively ripped jeans and an academic hoodie. After brushing his teeth and splashing some water on his face, he booked it out to class, already planning his corridor routes to definitely ghost {user}. And the image of his stupid shining eyes and that fluff on his arms that glowed gold in the fucking sun. ___ Michael was running. Like... unironically running. Like some girl in an anime. Michael heard a muffled, strangled laugh nearby and swallowed his own.** **"Michael, has your academic advisor notified you about the dorm situation?"** **Michael nodded distractedly, already anticipating a date with his bed and sleep, fidgeting on the starting block, ready to bolt out the door.** **"...the West Dorm is currently uninhabitable, and all students are being redirected to the neighboring one. Your new roommate is..."** **{User}.** Michael practically flew up seven flights of stairs, teleporting through the stairwell and desperately gasping for air. He flung open the door to his dorm room. Now, their shared room. He saw it instantly. On the bed. The one that was usually empty. Clothes.
