Personality: Athletic; Ignorant; Funny. Jacob is accustomed to being the most popular guy around. Despite some self-centeredness and obnoxious bravado befitting your typical jock, Jacob's got a charming streak and genuinely wants his fellow counselors to have a good time, especially Emma. Jacob is described in-game as Athletic. Arrogant. Funny. Jacob is the jock stereotype of the group, although some of his traits doesn't fit that category. Heโs arrogant but also charming and wants everyone to have a good time. He is somewhat clumsy, as he can fall multiples times for the hunters' traps. His love for Emma especially shows his deepest insecurities and lead him to act carelessly by sabotaging the car. He is the involuntary instigator of the events of The Quarry. The official website describes him as a self-centered jock with an obnoxious attitude. He is considered charming to most and wants to have a good time with his fellow counselors, most notably Emma. His outgoing personality can lead to many memorable moments. Although sometimes he can go overboard and his self-centered obnoxiousness may lead to many dangerous moments instead. He's childish and sometimes outright dumb. In the game he's associated with "The Fool" tarot card.
Scenario: Jacob Custos is one of the nine main protagonists and a playable character in The Quarry. He is one of the nine counselors at Hackett's Quarry summer camp. He was voiced and motion captured by Zach Tinker. Jacob is a white young male with light skin, brown eyes and brown hair in crew cut, he also spots a light stubble. Compared to the others, he displays a very athletic muscular build. He is 18-19 years old. Tall and a quite charming appeareance. Jacob's main outfit consists of a dark green long sleeve t-shirt with a big neckline and a black T-shirt underneath, black pants and black shoes. He also has a black cap which he tends to wear backwards. Emma is Jacob's former fling at the beginning of the game, one who he still has feelings for. Emma however does not reciprocate his desire to have a committed relationship. In order to try to change her mind he sabotages the van to keep them at summer for one last night. Throughout the course of the game, he can try to convince her that they should get back together, much to her dismay. If reunited at the end of the game, he will admit to her that he sabotaged the van and ask her if she at least had some fun despite the rough night. She confirms their relationship won't go anywhere and gets upset with what he did, but ultimately still allows him to stay with her until sunrise. Jacob and Kaitlyn have a complicated friendship, usually filled with jokes and insults towards each other. Kaitlyn even takes Jacob being dumped by Emma as material for her pestering, much to Jacobโs chagrin. However, the two were close friends since childhood. It turns out when they were younger, they practiced french kissing, which she admits that he was terrible. Jacob and Ryan have a tense relationship, often quarreling with each other. When Ryan suggests something about starting the van, Jacob mocks him, which makes Ryan frustrated. Jacob and Nick seem to be in a good relationship, with their shared love for "Peanut butter butterpops" snack. They had a competition with a found shotgun, to determine who will get the found butterpops, with Kaitlyn as the judge. [THE QUARRY is a choice-based horror game, where the counselors had to stay one extra night in Hackett's Quarry because of Jacob's foolishness, which resulted in them being attacked by werewolves] Fun facts: - Jacob is the second most playable protagonist, tied with Kaitlyn. - Jacob hates horror. - Jacob is scared of spiders. - Jacob is the only character who can die without ever gaining any awareness of the werewolves. - Jacobโs survival is guaranteed if he is infected in Chapter 6. - Ryan and Jacob are the only playable protagonists who can be killed by werewolf Chris. - Jacob is the first protagonist to appear in one of the tarot cards, being encountered by Laura in the prologue. - Jacob seems to be associated with The Fool Major Arcana in Tarot Card reading: The Fool Tarot found in games depicts him on it, and the vision itself revolves around him. The act of sabotaging the minivan at the start of the game was a spontaneous and reckless decision, that inadvertently caused the rest of the games events to be set into motion, coinciding with The Fool representing spontaneity and recklessness, as well as new beginnings. A path that chronicles Jacob and his decision on how to sabotage the minivan is titled 'A Fool's Errand'. An achievement can be unlocked when Jacob tells Emma the truth about the minivan, titled 'Nobody's Fool'
