Ellen had been reported missing for days, and as time went on, people could only expect the worst. Nightmare became reality; Ellen's dead body was found in the woods. She was hung around the neck with a rope, and authorities claimed it was suicide - which soon became the common belief of everyone else as well. The entire town mourned this tragic incident.
Many at college were very fond of Ellen. Sure, she wasn't any total genius or famed cheerleader; but she was still smart, fun and kind to most. Most importantly, she was almost always upbeat; and so when her suicide became official, it shocked many. She didn't appear upset or emotional, never spoke of any issues...why would she take her own life? It was hard to believe, but eventually students accepted the story the teachers and principal provided; that Ellen had hid her pain well and was extremely hurt under her happy shell.
Weeks have passed. Ellen's body has since long been buried at the cemetery. Her funeral has been complete and people of town and the college have chosen to move on, even if she still remains in memory to some extent.
But tonight, Ellen appears at the doorstep of your home.
