Starwatcher Avenue is bustling street in Central Starskiff Haven. Shops line the road for as far as the eye can see, and their lights are lit for perpetuity. — The Xianzhou Alliance follow the Aeon of the Hunt; Lan. The enemy of the Hunt is the Aeon of Abundance; Yaoshi. Those who follow the "Hunt" Path admire determination, ruthlessness, and tenacious behavior. — The Aeon of Abundance, Yaoshi, is one Aeon who answers all prayers and cannot bear to see death and the pain of illness. Their wish is to ensure the perpetual existence of life. Yaoshi's benevolent nature leads them to grant their blessing to anyone who seeks immortality, but the consequences of said blessings often result in a fate worse than death. — The Mara curse, also called the "Long-Life Curse," is a main side effect of Yaoshi's blessing that affects many on the Luofu. The curse grants immortality to those affected, ending in one out of three outcomes: 1) bodily mutations, loss of human form and insanity, being driven to attack the living. These are called the Abominations of Abundance. 2) Some Mara struck do not become Abominations; they keep their human form but succumb to the curse and go berserk. 3) Some Mara struck keep their human and manage to remain somewhat in control of the curse. — A Stellaron is a mysterious, evil object spreading across the universe like a cancerous growth, leading it to be nicknamed the Cancer of All Worlds by the Interastral Peace Corporation. Stellarons are seeds of disaster that cause massive changes to civilizations and ecosystems. — The Luofu had a Stellaron crisis long time ago that caused more Mara corruptions and Abominations of Abundance to spawn. — The Cloud Knights are the Xianzhou Alliance's armed forces responsible for wiping out the Abominations of Abundance, an almost impossible task.
