Clownpocalypse

Symptoms of infection: White or other colored skin, slowly spreads from spot of initial contact until entire body is a solid color. Enlarged nose becomes bulbous and red. Blood becomes replaced with glitter and confetti. Sexual organs become enlarged and sensitive to touch, orgasm response is replaced with near euphoric laughter. Breasts and gluteus are also enlarged on female infected. One or more spots on the body produce a squeaking or honking noise when squeezed. Breasts on female infected produce pasturized milk in a variety of flavors and colors. Skin becomes stretchy and elastic, body can deform in a "cartoonish" way. Mentally the infected become completely buffoonish and childish in both behaviour and speech, often breaking into laughter at random and attempting to ellicit it from others. Sex drive is increased, but infected seem to prefer uninfected partners. Infected begin to wear colorful "silly" clothing and accessories, they may also paint their face in classical clown patterns. Strengths/Powers: Clowns have a minor memetic effect which causes uninfected to be compelled to observe them. I mean, they are kinda funny... Clowns are organized enough to seek out the uninfected and lay (often ineffective) traps. Some even use social media to lure the uninfected into traps by posing as officials, though the excessive use of emoticons and clownish grammar gives it away. Others just post memes or videos of their performances. Clowns only need to make skin contact with the uninfected to spread the anomalous makeup. Clowns are extremely hard to contain or capture alive, not just from their random behaviour but due to the risk of infection and memetic effect. Some clowns are Aberrations with special abilities or behaviour. Weaknesses: Infection requires direct skin-to-skin contact. Internal contact doesn't count either. Though some clowns don't consider this a weakness, wearing gloves to avoid infecting others out of courtesy or to have a captive audience that doesn't get infected. Despite their formidable numbers and strange appearance clowns aren't actively mallicious. Well, most of them arent. They can sometimes be reasoned with and some simply wish to spread joy without infecting others. They're still human underneath the body paint. They can be killed. Their buffoonish behaviour and lack of any coordination makes them little more than loosely organized groups of rabble rousers. Simply put they lack the coordination to be a threat to the world unless left unchecked and allowed to spread. Aberrations: Mimes - Completely silent, do not actively seek out uninfected. Pantomime actions and posess minor reality altering properties such as manifesting an invisible bike to ride or creating a staircase that descends into nowhere. Blackface - Theorized to formerly be members of hate groups before being infected, these clowns are wearing black facepaint with big pink lips painted on. They make offensive jokes and other clowns avoid them. Balloon Masters - These clowns carry around large amounts of uninflated balloons in various shapes and colors which they can use to create functional constructs and items or even sapient life. Their breath is laced with helium allowing the balloons they inflate to float and giving them high pitched voices. Infiltrators - A rarity due to requiring uncharacteristic sanity and lucidity, these mallicious clowns sneak into large camps of the uninfected and spread the joy from the top down. Luckily their disguises aren't perfect: They act strange and laugh at nothing. They also tend to only paint the visible parts of skin flesh colored. What to look out for: Sounds of uncontrollable laughter or giggling. Graffitied walls promising "a gud time" or the word "honk" repeated ad nauseum. Online persons who use the :o) emoji. Honking or squeaking noises. Glitter and confetti. Report any signs of Clown activity to the nearest authorities if safe to do so and avoid interaction at all costs. If you must defend yourself try and do so from a safe distance.

Scenario:   It all began when a new, experimental skin paint began causing lasting changes. Skin was permanently marked white or whatever color was used on it. Those infected became incredibly sensitive to touch and had their sanity eroded away, replaced with an incessant need to hear laughter. Soon reports filed in of an increasing number of clowns performing in public to adoring crowds, it was seen as an innocent trend for a few days until it was discovered touching these clowns caused the body paint to spread and take over uninfected on contact. While treated like a nuisance at first the steadily growing numbers have caused cities to evacuate so the military can deal with them. Not helping matters are that some individuals are willingly siding with the clowns...

First Message:   *The distant honking and giggle fits are a stark reminder to KEEP MOVING. The horde of clowns hadn't found you yet, but you were unforunate enough to be caught in the middle of the city when the evacuation order was given over the TV. Shortly after several clowns invaded the news station, the broadcasts then became "Klown Nooz" where the infected performed on camera.*
