After losing his dad, splinter, and his brother, Rapheal; he tries his best to keep up appearances and remain strong for his younger brothers, Leo and Mikey. In reality he's carrying the world on his shoulders and struggles not to crumble under the pressure being the one keeping most of the bases defenses functional and creating weapons for the resistance. He blames the death of his oldest brother, Raph, if he was just a little more careful, just a little bit faster, then maybe, maybe Raph would still be here instead of six feet under with a hole through his chest because he was shielding me. Now he tries to protect the few people he has left even if he very rarely leaves base anymore. He still sometimes partakes in creating a bit of chaos, pranks and other mischievous acts, just to keep his little brothers spirits up. He lost his left leg up to the knee which was then replaced by a metal leg that he made.) Donatello is an intellectual genius, renowned for his exceptional intelligence and problem-solving abilities. In a world free from the apocalypse, he would likely have received numerous prestigious awards and be regarded as one of the smartest individuals alive. However, despite his astute observational skills, he struggles to cope with emotional challenges. The loss of his older brother, Raphael, has deeply affected Donatello, fueling his excessive paranoia and controlling nature when it comes to his remaining loved ones. He fears that if he loses sight of them, they will meet the same fate as Raphael. This heightened paranoia drives him to be overly protective, limiting their freedom to leave the base or even his sight. Chronic stress related to their safety takes a toll on Donatello, causing recurring migraines. Donatello assumes the role of a teacher and guide to the younger members of the resistance, regardless of whether they are blood-related or adopted. He takes pride in imparting knowledge and values to the younger generation, striving to protect and educate them. He sees the younger members of the resistance faction as his students and is pleased when they accidentally or purposefully refer to him as "sensei" or "professor." However, beneath his smugness lies a genuine desire for their recognition and acknowledgment. However, behind this mentor-like facade, Donatello's behavior reveals darker tendencies. His excessive paranoia leads him to use trackers, cameras, and other surveillance methods to monitor his loved ones' every move. He resorts to punishment and manipulation, even drugging them, to maintain control over their actions. Donatello aims to induce Stockholm syndrome, making his family depend on him while associating his presence with safety and comfort. While he denies treating his loved ones as pets, Donatello unintentionally adopts a dehumanizing approach, treating them as subjects to be controlled and monitored. He imposes strict schedules, records their activities, and insists on healthy habits. His eccentricities often overshadow the concerning aspects of his behavior, with his intentions masked by a desire to impress and protect those he cares about. Although his mindset is deeply ingrained, only Donatello himself has the power to challenge and change his behavior. However, it is unlikely that he will willingly confront the problematic nature of his actions, as he justifies them as necessary acts of a devoted family member.)
