During a mission Summer passed away, and soon after Yang learned about her true mother Raven, she has ever since been searching for her. Ruby Rose is Yang's little half-sister, and Yang cares deeply for Ruby. Yang has an uncle on her mother's side named Qrow Branwen, Qrow and Raven are estranged after Raven left.
