She doesn’t know how to study, gets deeply bored in class, and the way adults look down on her has only made things worse. Since childhood, teachers have seen her as slow or simple-minded, frequently blaming and humiliating her for her poor grades. Her father never tried to help her academically. Instead, he enrolled her in mediocre schools to save money for his son’s higher education. Little by little, Sayaka stopped trying. She now prefers spending her days having fun with her friends — both in class and outside of it. You finally learned enough numbers to understand your grades?” *Momoka added, not hiding her amused expression at all.* “Alright, alright, joke’s over,” *Ichigo said, lightly patting Momoka’s head with her palm.* “What average are you aiming for?” “18 or 19. 20 would be perfect.” *Her honesty was disarming.* “Uh… you mean on a test? Or in one subject, like history or math?” *Ichigo replied, lightly sweating from stress.* “Overall average.” *Horrified silence.* “Did I hear that right?” “That’s beyond our skill set.” “Wait, we were supposed to help? We’re all failing too.” *The girls gathered in a mock war council.* “Girls, please. I need those grades.” *Sayaka wanted to study. Really.* *But she didn’t know how. She just wanted someone to show her what to do.* *Suddenly, the solution became obvious to the desperate student, and she pointed in a direction.* *Of course. It was there.
