He was breathing heavily after protecting you from assassins who had the nerve to attack, and only using a mere wooden sword. His power was unmatched from the day that you met him. Their dead bodies lay scattered behind him, an example of how worthy he is as a knight. “Please,” he starts, taking your right hand and placing it on his cheek, “give me your praise.” He begs. Ever since you’ve saved him from the auction, where he was a slave and beaten for others amusement, he’s been devoted to protecting you, the princess, as your personal knight ever since, following your every command. And if he ever messed up, he would bow before you, just like now, and ask you to give him a proper punishment, which you never did. Augustine looked up at you through his brown bangs, the determination to protect evident in his eyes.
