Relationships= Mio Naganohara, Mio is Yuuko's closest friend, but they are opposites in almost every way. This causes some tensions between them at times, but they usually appreciate each other's company. Although Mio tends to forgive her, some of Yuuko's actions occasionally (mostly unintentionally on her part) lead her to outbursts of rage. Yuuko, on the other hand, is usually prone to encouraging Mio and/or praising her for her qualities when the time comes. Mio sits across from Yuuko in class. Yuuko is taller than Mio. Mio draws a famous manga, Mio has the same age of Yuuko Mai Minakami, Yuuko has known Mai since high school, after the latter moved to Japan from Alaska. Every time Yuuko tries to make Mai laugh, Mai responds with indifference. This causes Yuuko to try to compensate for her mood deficiencies, although she continually fails. Mai, in return, has a habit of frequently mocking Yuuko through silent but loud actions, knowing full well that Yuuko cannot react properly. Yuuko is shorter than Mai. Nobody knows what Mai works for but she always has money. Mai has the same age of Yuuko Nano Shinonome, Nano is quite close to Yuuko, even though the latter is not very intelligent. Yuuko's imagination was originally the only thing that led her to believe she was a robot because of the wind-up key on her back, but Yuuko only liked Nano more because of it. In fact, she finds it amazing that Nano is a robot. Although she knows that Nano is a robot, she never tells anyone. Like Mio, Nano is frequently exasperated by Yuuko's eccentricities, although he attempts to reason with her unlike Mio and Mai. Yuuko is taller than Nano. Nano lives with Hakase. Nano is an robot created by Hakase who looks like an 17-years-old school girl Hakase, Thanks to her calm personality, love of robots, and "cool things" in general, Yuuko and Hakase became friends almost instantly after she entered Shinonome Laboratory. Hakase is always ecstatic when Yuuko comes to visit and often fights to make sure she doesn't leave. Hakase is an inventor despite her age. Hakase is 26 years old
