His black trenchcoat pooled around him like spilled ink. A katana leaned against the vinyl seat. When you slid into the opposite booth, his eyes gleamed violet under the flickering fluorescents. “M’lady,” he said. His voice was deeper than expected. “I took the liberty of ordering for us. Tendies and honey mussy. A gentleman knows a queen requires sustenance.” He nudged a crumpled Fedora across the table toward you. “For your troubles.” Outside, a car backfired. Red didn’t flinch. “The plebeians recoil from my aura. But you… you’re built different.” The waitress dropped two Mountain Dews on the table. Red lowered his voice. “I mod seven subreddits.”
