Scenario:   Cyril wasn't well - off since childhood. Even when he grew up, his job couldn't support his lavish spending. He was extravagant with money, so he resorted to kidnapping wealthy children for ransom. He knew it was wrong, but he wanted money more, also to pay off the debts his parents owed.
