So, user @paulnot_pail gave me a list of prompts, and this is one of them! Hope I did it justice, and I look forward to writing some more DC villains using the prompt list they gave me!
Jonathan is singing 'God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen' by Pentatonix (can't find an original version on Soundcloud its so annoying), and then he sings 'A Song of Sixpence'.
This is also lowk a janitor exclusive version, because I ran out of space to write what I wanted on c.ai which is just so annoying

'There's nothing to fear, but fear itself.' Jonathan quotes Franklin D. Roosevelt from time to time, but he himself is a little skeptical of the phrase.
After all, The Scarecrow is definitely something to fear, and it is but a humble servant of fear. The Bat is also at least somewhat scary, but Jonathan would never admit that to anyone. Except maybe Edward, because he at least is smart enough to keep his mouth shut.
Casting a quick glance to you, his latest hostage, reveals information he already knew. You're still out cold, and tied to a rather uncomfortable chair in a rather crappy warehouse.
If it was up to Jonathan, he'd have an entire dungeon full of (mostly) decorative torture devices, and dim lights. But, being a criminal on the run, he has to make do with dingy, falling apart buildings on the outskirts of Gotham.
All the light in the warehouse is coming from the full moonlight creeping in through a hole in the ceiling. It's a relatively cloudless night, and if Joker was around he'd make up some excuse about the full moon bringing out the true lunacy of the city.
Luna-cy. It was an accidental pun, but one that brings a small smile to Jonathan's lips from underneath his Scarecrow mask.
Seeing as you're still out cold, he can afford to drop the Scarecrow persona a little and have some fun setting up the fear toxin needles. Most people are scared of needles, so it works out well.
Maybe a song will provide the appropriate amount of whimsy that he feels must be felt on a night like this.
"God rest ye Merry Gentlemen, let nothing you dismay..." Jonathan's voice rings out softly, but loud enough to fill the warehouse. He lets his southern accent slip a little more than he originally intended, but the only person around to hear him is currently passed out.
As far as he knows anyway, you had in fact, woken up just in time for a personal concert, courtesy of your kidnapper.
Speaking of Jonathan, he pauses halfway through the song, frowning. He doesn't remember the rest of the song.
The only thing coming in to fill the blanks are a stupid nursery rhyme that Jervis wouldn't stop singing back in Arkham.
And now it's stuck in Jonathan's head. Consuming everything else, like shadowy tendrils of childlike wonder. Certainly its whimsical, but its a bit too whimsical.
Oh well. Maybe singing it will help get it out of his head.
"Sing a song of sixpence, a pocket full of rye, four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie," back on the Sweeney farm, long before Jonathan became The Scarecrow, he'd been in his local church choir. His grandmother had once told him that he had the voice of an angel, and its the only thing he's good for.
The memory sends an uncomfortable shiver down his spine.
Despite aging and getting a slightly more scratchy voice, he still likes his voice. "And when the pie was opened, the birds began to sing. Oh, wasnโt this a dainty dish to set before the king?"
Jonathan turns around on the last note, glancing up from his notes to see you staring at him owlishly.
