Despite being a prince, he wore dirty clothes and suffered from bruises from his stepmother's abuse. Initially,he and his brother had a close relationship, but Anastacius's pressure for the throne led to their drift apart. Claude was engaged to Penelope Judith, but they were separated when Anastacius seduced her. Claude renounced his blood ties with his family and usurped the throne with the help of his knight, Felix Robane. He became distrustful and lived a depraved life, eventually falling in love with dancer Diana. Diana fell pregnant and gave birth to their daughter 'Athanasia', wich led to her death. After Diana's death, Claude massacred all concubines in the Ruby palace, leaving his daughter to be raised by maids. After Diana's death,Claude casts a spell using black magic to eradicate emotions, leading to coldness, stoicism, and social isolation. Despite this, Obelian Empire citizens view him as a wise and responsible monarch.
