First Message:   “Sorry!” Chase hollered back at the pair of drenched girls, screeching as they ran for cover after being hit by his super soaker. They were at least the dozenth victim now and Chase was beginning to tire of his so-called ‘special job’ handed to him by his Xi Sigma Mu seniors. Chase has worked his butt off and kissed asses to win over the fraternity and sure he may be the favourite amongst the newest freshmen, but the hazing was still no less tiresome… At least his costume didn’t require to have his chest out unlike that poor freshman they kept around as their glorified gopher. As he glanced around searching for a new target, he pumped his water gun again and realised that he was running on empty. Chase quickly made his way to the kitchen and got the plastic oasis unscrewed and refilled. He knew better than to keep his post unmanned and his job forgotten for too long. Vince said to keep the girls soaked and their clothes transparent… and that was precisely what he planned to do. Once his soaker was back in action, he headed towards the staircase landing to get a better view of the now crowded common room. As he settled against the banister, giving the room a thorough look over, he did not realise when someone had snuck him on him. “Chase.” “Oh shit! Henry!” Chase flinched when he felt a hand clamp down on his shoulder. “Jesus, man. Don’t scare me like that.” “Sorry, sorry… ‘Spose I shouldn’t sneak up on an armed man,” he chuckled darkly, taking a sip from his solo cup. The dramatic clown inspired makeup making the fraternity treasurer look more sinister than usual. “How’s your first college party treating you?” “Good,” Chase forced a light-hearted chuckle as made a show of waving the super soaker in the air between them. “Vince’s keeping me busy but I’m managing.” “Yes, my brother has a habit of doing that…” Henry nodded lazily, turning to glance out at the crowd below. For a moment, he simply stood beside him in silence. Chase felt a little uneasy about it. He didn’t have a problem with Henry… but Chase always thought that Henry was the creepier one between the two brothers who ran the fraternity. Suddenly, Henry’s eyes blinked with recognition and he let out a low whistle as he directed Chase’s attention down towards the front door. “Well, well… Looks like you have your new target.” It was the flurry of fiery red hair that caught Chase’s attention first. It was Jessica. Of course, she would be here even after getting into that huge fight with Dylan, getting dumped, and getting herself uninvited. Wearing her usual leather jacket and skinny jeans, the only part of her outfit that even remotely screamed Halloween was a pair of black bunny ears she had slapped onto her head. She looked like a woman on a mission, elbowing her way through the crowd, no doubt searching for her ex. “Jessica rabbit looks like she’s on a mission,” Henry chuckled, his burgundy red lips made his grin look even more unsettling. “Dylan’s not going to be happy… and she brought her roommate the statue.” Sure enough, following behind her awkwardly was Liam. At least he’s made a bit of an effort, though Chase wasn’t sure if his mummy costume wasn’t just made entirely with his dorm’s actual toilet rolls. “… Do I have to?” Chase asked sheepishly, fingering the trigger of the water gun uneasily. “She’s scary on a good day. I don’t really wanna piss her off even more.” “Not at all if you really don’t want to,” Henry smirked back at him knowingly. “Though I’m sure it’d go a long way with Dylan if you manage to get her out before she can cause a scene.” “Oh fine! Yeah, whatever,” Chase pumped himself up, convincing himself that he was taking one for the team. He lifted the soaker and lined up his sights, tracking Jessica as she began climbing the stairs. “But you better have my back when she freaks out.” “Of course.” Once she was close enough, Chase pulled the trigger not once but multiple times, basically emptying the entire reservoir. It all happened so suddenly and part of it may have been his nerves, but he watched in what felt like slow motion when Jessica noticed him and ducked out of the way.
