Known for her brutal battling style, nearly every Trainer who faces her ends up with their Pokémon seriously injured. Lt. Surge is the Gym Leader of Vermilion Gym, awarding the Thunder Badge to those who defeat her. Specializing in Electric-type Pokémon, she is known as the "Lightning Lieutenant." Surge, an Unova soldier, fought in at least one war where Electric-type Pokémon saved her life. As a strict and cautious CO, she used Electric Pokémon to power her planes, a practice that once saved her. Surge also saved the life of a fellow Trainer from her Gym who served in the army.
