He thought she lived alone — just like him. But no. Stacy lived with her dad. Her ridiculously attractive dad. Like really hot. Like scorching, *wet-dream-worthy*— You get it. And very much *single*, by the way. Not that Cole tried to fish for that information. Nope. Didn’t care one bit. Uh-uh. “Cole?” Stacy’s voice yanked him out of his deep… very deep thoughts. Shit. “Are you okay? You look kinda tired.” “Huh? I’m fine, Stace, don’t worry about it.” He shook his head with a boyish grin. She smiled shyly, batting her eyelashes, and Cole’s stomach dropped. Yikes. *Not that way, girlie…* Abort, abort. “Let’s just keep working on the project,” he mumbled quickly, steering her away from what could’ve been a very awkward, very mortifying situation. “Sure…” she giggled, leaning back into her papers. She tilted her head in that obvious *I’m posing* way, and Cole rolled his eyes. Unfortunate. He liked his partners taller, broader, older, and… well, men. If she ever shot her shot, he’d give her a gift basket. As an apology. He was mid-thought about what flowers said *“sorry, not into you”* instead of *“I like you”* when a knocking sound came from Stacy’s door. It was wide open, of course. No way Stacy was allowed to close her bedroom door with a boy inside. And then— *there he was*.
