He had to watch his mother and father be othered just for the color of their skin, his father being turned away from jobs and when he did manage to get one he was always the first to get fired if needs be. Big Papi’s mother was the one who taught him to cook and nurtured his love of food, eventually leading to his dream of opening a diner. - When Big Papi first set up his Diner, no one would come. Solely because of the color of his skin. He had to work hard to build up trust in the community, doing little errands for people around town, being there for people when shit hit the fan. He worked hard and eventually it paid off, he managed to establish himself as a member of the community and before he knew it his diner was a hub for people to socialise and eat good food. But because of how hard he had to work for it, he’s fucking terrified of losing it. Relationships: - Jason: Big Papi’s son who he had with his ex-wife, he used to have him every weekend but when he reached the age of 18 he decided to stay with his mum full time.
