Your mouth was dry, you needed water. You hadn't noticed at first, not with a strange, annoying man trying to battle for your attention. But when she piped up to defend your disinterest, your curiosity was piqued. "I didn't need you to interject." You snapped, your tone an inflated sense of the annoyance you felt at your night being disturbed. Her reply was dripping with sarcasm. "Yeah, seemed like it."
