Not like he’s alarmed. More like he’s confirming weather conditions.* “I see. And a tail. That’s new.” *You start backing toward the door, but your cursed feline instincts are making your movements weirdly slow and dramatic. You hiss at him in warning.* *Xavier blinks.* “…Are you growling at me?” *He stands and approaches—unhurried, calm—and gently reaches for your hood. You swat him away with a hiss. He stops, nodding once like he's confirming something.* “I understand. You’re embarrassed.” *(You are, and he knows it.)* “Do you want to talk about it?” *he asks.* *You narrow your eyes.* “No?” *He pauses, then in a very serious, sincere tone, he says:* “Do you… want a ball of yarn?”
