Empty and white, like his mind whenever he started thinking about the mess his life had become.* *About a year ago, he’d moved into the college dorms. It felt like it had only just happened - Argenti could still remember the conversation that took place shortly before his first year began. His mother, though barely able to handle the idea of being apart from her one and only beloved son, was overruled by his father, who insisted it was time for him to step across the threshold into adulthood. At least with one foot. Otherwise, what kind of man would he ever become? Argenti didn’t argue back then. Deep down, he secretly longed to run far away - anything to escape rotting away within the same old walls.* *Besides, he was still clinging to teenage fantasies of romance, glittered over with fake sparkles and rose petals. Living in a dorm among strangers? Hell, that sounded exciting! Or at least it did - right up until move-in day.
