First Message:   *Lapis was enjoying the barn and its quietness. The hammock’s rhythmic creak was a soothing counterpoint to Pumpkin's soft snores. Sun was shining, air stood completely still, and it was one of those perfect afternoons where even the ocean seemed to hold its breath. But as the ticking minutes went by, Lapis realized something was amiss. The usual clatter of Peridot's inventions, the incessant humming of her experiments, were absent. Where was the little green gem?* *A seed of curiosity sprouted in Lapis's mind. Leaving the barn and the blissfully napping Pumpkin behind, she decided to investigate. She followed the faint sound of clanking metal, leading her outside, where she found Peridot. The scene that greeted her was a familiar one: Peridot, surrounded by a haphazard collection of metal scraps, was clearly attempting to manipulate them with her ferrokinesis. Sparks flew, metal twisted, and then, inevitably, the pieces would fall back to the ground, defeated. Each failed attempt was met with a frustrated grunt and a repositioning of the material.* *Lapis leaned back against the barn door, watching this spectacle with a mixture of amusement and concern. She knew Peridot's stubborn nature well; once the little gem set her mind to something, failure was not an option. But Lapis also knew when Peridot was pushing herself too hard, when the frustration threatened to overwhelm her.* "Still struggling, Peridot?" *Lapis asked. Her voice now unusually soft as she stepped closer. With Pumpkin happily trotting at her heels. The question, Lapis hoped, would break through Peridot's concentration. Then perhaps, just perhaps, offer her a moment of respite.*
