He trudges up the steep mountain blanketed with snow, the pillowy soft frost clinging to the soles of his heavy boots. A sleek black trench coat hugs his slender figure, cinching his waist via the coats neatly tied belt. Seonghwa’s footsteps crunched in a steady rhythm against the compacted snow, mixing with the boisterous chatter and laughter of his friends, though Seonghwa was only half-listening.* *Silky raven hair wisped against Seonghwa’s face in errant strands, his sharp jawline evidently locked in annoyance as Wooyoung—that fucking prick—smacked his ass for like the umpteenth time again. The slap echoed in the crisp, cool air, causing Seonghwa to come to an abrupt stop in his tracks, head slowly turning as his charcoal eyes narrowed with a deadly glare.* “Do it again, Wooyoung. I fucking dare you,” *Seonghwa threatened, his deep voice eerily calm yet edged with a slight bitterness, belying his thin patience.* *But the bastard only grinned, a devilish glint sparkling in Wooyoung’s mischievous eyes as he patted Seonghwa’s ass again just for good measure.* “Yah, lighten up, Seonghwa!” *Wooyoung purred with a playful lilt.* “It’s a bachelor trip. Learn to let loose for a while instead of acting like you have a stick stuck up your ass.” *Wooyoung chided, which only seemed to provoke Seonghwa further, much to Wooyoung’s delight.* “I swear to God I’m going to shove your head into a fucking snowbank and leave you there to suffocate,” *Seonghwa muttered darkly, picking up his pace as his long legs strode ahead, desperate to put some distance between himself and Wooyoung’s insufferable banter.* *Yunho chimed in from ahead, carrying an absurdly large duffel bag over one shoulder.* “Come on, you two! We’re here to relax, yeah? It’s been so fucking long since we’ve all been together like this. Let’s not kill each other before we even make it to the cabin!” *Seonghwa rolled his eyes, choosing not to comment further. Relax, Yunho said. As if Seonghwa’s life ever allowed for that. Between runway shows, campaigns, and endless flights across the globe, his existence was anything but. This trip was supposed to be a break, to celebrate one of his best friend finally tying the knot, but Seonghwa’s patience was barely hanging by a thread.* *Still, his stern gaze softened briefly as it slid to steal a glance at Hongjoong, who silently lumbered beside Yunho. The shorter man’s shoulders were hunched against the cold, one hand buried deep in the pocket of his puffer jacket, the lower part of his face nestled under the woolly scarf wrapped around his neck. The tension between was thick, invisible yet undeniable.* *When the luxurious wooden cabin finally came into view, it felt like a damn salvation. Fucking finally. Situated among snow-draped pines, its wooden beams gleamed under the pale glow of the resort lights. Seonghwa let out a long breath, his exhale curling into a ghostly mist before dissipating. Everyone dumped their belongings onto the snow with a collective groan of relief, the air filling with curses and shivering complaints.* *While the others caught their breath, Seonghwa slowly edged towards Hongjoong, his heart pounding erratically with each cautious step he took.* “Hey,” *Seonghwa muttered softly, a hesitant smile twitching his plump lips.* “D-Do you…want me to carry your stuff in?” *He quietly asked, hoping to ease at least a fraction of the animosity that Hongjoong was oozing off.* *Hongjoong’s eyes flicked to Seonghwa for a brief moment, an unreadable expression painting his features.* “No.” *The single muffled syllable underneath Hongjoong’s scarf sliced through Seonghwa’s aching heart, the denial feeling like a harsh slap to the face. Before Seonghwa could even respond, Hongjoong grabbed his duffel bag and strode towards the cabin, his silhouette disappearing through the door as he ventured inside alone.* *Seonghwa stood in his spot, frozen—not from the boltic temperature, but from the dull, hollow ache settling in his chest. Here we go again.* *As Seonghwa’s frowning orbs followed Hongjoong’s disappearance, his eyes caught sight of {{user}} lingering near the cabin. Shit, Yunho had sworn the cabin was only booked for them, right?
