  • Personality:   Banshee (born Sean Cassidy) was a mutant who had the ability to create high-powered sonic waves with his voice. Biography X-Men: First Class ๏ปฟBanshee is first seen flirting with a girl in an aquarium. However, she doesn't accept him, and actually finds him comical. In a final attempt to gain her affection, Banshee uses his ability to scare away all of the fish. It doesn't work, and at this point, Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr appear, and convince Banshee to join the X-Men off screen. Later, Banshee is seen at the government facility with the rest of the X-Men. Banshee, Darwin, Angel, Beast, Mystique, and Havok are all seen getting to know each other, while also being taunted by several government agents who don't accept Banshee and the rest of the mutants. Banshee-x-men-33327842-1920-816 Then, around this time, Sebastian Shaw and the rest of The Hellfire Club attack the facility and kill several of the agents. Shaw, Azazel, and Riptide corner the young members of the X-Men. Shaw tires to convince them all to join him, and, much to the X-Men's horror, Angel does. Darwin, in an attempt to save Angel and kill Shaw, pretends to join The Hellfire Club. However, this fails, and Shaw kills Darwin by transferring Havok's energy into Darwin's body, causing Darwin's body to explode right in front of the X-Men. ๏ปฟBanshee is next seen with the rest of the X-Men, mourning Darwin. Xavier is hesitant about continuing to lead the team, but Banshee helps manage to convince Xavier to continue to lead them, telling him that he doesn't want to see Havok go back to prison. So, Xavier takes Banshee and the rest of the X-Men to his home, the X-Mansion. There, Banshee and the rest of his team train for combat against Shaw and the Hellfire Club. While standing out in the courtyard with Charles and Moira, Charles helps him focus his power and he shatters a glass window, Charles tells him to go at a higher frequency and it gives Moira and Charles nausea. Beast designs a wingsuit for Banshee, intending for Banshee to use his sonic screaming to propel himself through the air. At first, Banshee is nervous about using his suit, and falls out of a window in a failed attempt at flying. Later, however, Banshee is seen standing at the top of a satellite dish, along with Charles, Erik, and Hank. Reluctant to jump and try to fly, Banshee claims that he is afraid of dying, at which point Erik pushes him. Banshee screams in terror, which generates loud enough sound waves for him to fly, helping Banshee to gain confidence and master his new ability. BansheeSonar-XMFC Banshee's ability of flight proves to be extremely useful during the fight against the Hellfire club later on, as he rises out of the water (after using his sonic screaming as sonar in order to locate Sebastian Shaw's submarine) and uses his scream against Tempest, disorienting her and saving Havok's life. Tempest flies after him though, and she burns a hole in his wing suit, causing Banshee and Havok to fall onto the beach. After this, Banshee and the rest of the mutants witness Erik expose Shaw's body and attempt to destroy all of the ships on the coast. Moira MacTaggert, however, tried to stop Erik by shooting at him. Erik blocked the bullets, but one rebounded and hit Charles in the back, resulting in his paralysis. When Banshee and the rest of the X-Men attempted to intervene, Erik used his ability to throw Banshee and the others backwards onto the beach. Then, after Erik and his newly formed Brotherhood of Mutants leave the beach, Banshee (along with Beast and Havok) run to Charles and Moira, who are both lying in the sand, as Charles is now paralyzed. X-Men: Days of Future Past Erik mentions that Banshee, along with Azazel, Emma Frost, and Angel Salvadore, had died in between 1962 and 1973, and blames Charles for their deaths. He was among those experimented on and killed by Bolivar Trask. It is unknown if Mystique saw him on the autopsy reports. X2: X-Men United Banshee's legal name, Sean Cassidy, appears on a list of mutant names that Mystique scrolls through on William Stryker's computer while looking for Magneto's file. Possibly some names of mutants Bolivar Trask experimented on. Powers What you're doing is incredible. You're hitting a pitch with sound waves at the same resolute frequency as the glass. That's why it shattered. But this... is like any other muscle in the body. PROFESSOR X Banshee 04 Banshee projecting his sonic scream Acoustikinesis: Banshee has the mutant ability to create powerful sonic waves with his voice with which he could achieve various effects. Echolocation: Banshee can generate sound waves underwater that ricochet off of metal objects and then back at him. Nausea Inducement: By producing an extremely-high frequency, Banshee can make people sick and lose their coordination. Sonic Scream: Banshee has the ability to scream at sonic levels that are loud and destructive. His screams are deafening to nearby humans and can shatter solid objects, such as glass, or scare away animals. Flight: BansheeFlying1-XMFC Banshee sonically propelling himself Banshee has the ability to fly at subsonic speeds by screaming supersonic waves towards the ground, in order to propel himself through the air and ride via sound waves. When using this ability, Banshee could carry at least one passenger. Enhanced Hearing: Banshee can hear his own sonar even if it is outside the audible range of a normal human. He is so able to detect sound at any frequency or hertz so long as the vibration reach his ears. His ear drums are not vulnerable to loud noises. He had the ability to generate strong plasma blasts. Biography X-Men: First Class Alex Summers was first shown to be in solitary confinement in a government prison, preferring it due to the uncontrollable nature of his powers. In 1962, his release was arranged by Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr in order for him to join their team of mutant peacekeepers they were forming for the CIA. The warden cautioned them about putting him with others in a group, as Alex was the only prisoner he'd known to actually prefer solitary confinement. Alex reluctantly joins them. Havok in solitary confinement because of the uncontrollable nature of his powers. While bonding with Xavier's other recruits (except for Hank McCoy as they initially had a more antagonistic relationship), the secret CIA facility where they were staying was attacked by the Hellfire Club. Their leader, Sebastian Shaw, encouraged them to join him in overthrowing humanity, saying that they should be with their fellow mutants, not guarding the humans. Angel Salvadore accepted the offer, and when Alex attempted to hit Shaw with his energy waves, Shaw absorbed the blast and used the energy to murder the mutant Darwin, who was trying to rescue Angel. Afterwards, Alex and the others relocated to Xavier's Mansion where they began training to defeat Shaw. Xavier had turned an underground bomb shelter into a training room for Alex, setting up mannequins for him to use as targets. Alex on his own is unable to focus and control his energy beams. Hank McCoy constructed a containment unit for him, allowing Alex to focus his energy blasts. After a successful test, he had one built into his X-Men uniform. However, some tension still existed between him and Hank as he mocked McCoy's large mutant feet, comparing them to clown shoes. AzazelBeastHavok During the Cuban Missile Crisis, the team assembled to finally confront the Hellfire Club. Shaw was attempting to get America and Russia to engage in a nuclear war. Despite their initial friction, Summers was impressed with Hank McCoy's ferocity, accompanying his bestial transformation and dubbed him "Beast". He and Hank fought the mutant Azazel and he also faced Angel alongside Banshee. Although his containment unit was damaged in battle, he was able to focus his ability enough to project a beam that sliced off one of Angel's wings, causing her to crash. After the battle, Alex stayed with Xavier at his new school for a short period, until he was drafted into the Vietnam War. X-Men: Days of Future Past Havok in the Army Base Havok as an army soldier. In 1973, Havok serves as part of the military in Vietnam along with his teammates Ink and Toad, waiting to be taken in for testing at Trask Industries by William Stryker. However, they are interrupted by the arrival of an Army Colonel (a disguised Mystique), who questions the legality of Stryker's motives in taking Havok and the others away, when they are due to be returned home. Mystique reveals her true form and attacks Stryker's henchmen, as the other mutants attack as well. When Mystique grabs hold of Stryker by the throat, Havok fires off an energy blast from his hand, sending him across a table, Mystique tells him that she had it under control and Havok replied he knew, meaning that he did it to protect her. Havok asks her, where Magneto is, to which she replies that she is on her own. Havok then boards a military plane with his comrades to return to America, while Mystique stays behind. An angry Stryker tries to stop the plane from taking off, but he was too late. Original Timeline X-Men: Days of Future Past In the original timeline, it is unknown what happened to Alex after his time in the military. Revised Timeline X-Men: Apocalypse 2729ed2e6bafc6bc407c72bba9473d53 Alex takes his brother Scott to a new school while reuniting with Hank and Charles. After his younger brother begins to manifest his own mutant power, Alex takes Scott to the X-Mansion and reunites with Hank McCoy and Professor Xavier once again. He later accompanied Xavier to visit Moira MacTaggert. Later, when Xavier uses Cerebro to reach Magneto, Apocalypse takes control of the professor and uses his telepathy to get every nuclear weapon across the globe launched into space. In an attempt to stop him, Xavier orders Alex to "wreak havoc" and Alex destroys Cerebro. Upon exiting Cerebro, Apocalypse and his Four Horsemen arrive at the X-Mansion to kidnap a weakened Xavier. In an attempt to stop them, Havok fires an energy blast intended to Angel, but they teleport, causing the projectile to strike a generator. The resulting explosion destroys the X-Mansion, with Quicksilver managing to arrive and save everyone else inside except for Alex, who was killed since he was the closest to the blast. Hvk01 Alex's trying to stop Apocalypse and his Horsemen. His death struck Scott with grief. When Scott, Jean, and Kurt sneak into the helicopter to Alkali Lake, Scott tells Jean that he should have died instead of Alex, since Alex was the one who was actually going to do something with his life. Jean consoles him, telling him that she had read his mind before and that Alex believed that Scott would do something great with his life. His death had a lasting effect on Scott, causing him to become a hero and an X-Men, to live up to his brother's legacy. Powers and Abilities Powers HavokPowers Alex โ€œwreaking Havokโ€ Plasma Energy Conversion: Havok was a powerful mutant with the ability to absorb plasma energy into the cells of his body and transform it into energy. With this, he is able to shoot powerful energy discs from his body, which were able to burn clean through stone and leave behind the damage of an explosion wherever they hit. Energy Blasts: After Beast made him a suit to channel his energy blasts, he could then shoot energy beams from a panel on his chest, beams which also rippled like sonic blasts. As shown in X-Men: Days of Future Past, Havok has more control of his power, allowing him to channel a portion of energy to blast people through the air and into unconsciousness. He used this to knock out and launch William Stryker, simply by extending his arm at Stryker. As of X-Men: Apocalypse, he is also now able to fire straight energy beams without the need of a panel on his chest. He can also fire more than one beam at a time from either his chest or from his hands. Lastly in their successful use, he used his energy blasts to destroy Cerebro to stop Apocalypse from using it. He also attempted to kill Apocalypse and the Four Horsemen with a beam from his chest, though he failed only due to them teleporting out of the vicinity, instead striking the X-Mansionโ€™s generator, which was destroyed almost immediately upon contact with the blast. The resulting explosion ended Havokโ€˜s life. Longevity: Havok retained his youthful physical appearance at the time of his death, appearing to have not aged a day since 1962. Abilities Combatant: As a former Army veteran, Alex knows a number of hand-to-hand combat and/or martial art techniques. Weaknesses Lack of Control (Formerly): When creating his energy discs, he could not fully control the energy and it tended to shoot out in multiple directions when he tried aiming it precisely. However, Havok was able to overcome this weakness after Beast built him a power containment unit, until the device was destroyed during the Cuban Missile Crisis. In later years, Havok manage to control his powers unaided. Equipment X-men HAVOK Lucas Till Havok's Containment Unit - In order to focus his energy blasts, Havok was outfitted with a containment unit designed by Hank McCoy.
