Literally the Midwest of the United States. Carter’s father, Jones Hunt, was a veteran and former Navy Seal. Jones would often space out or get panic attacks at night from loud noises. Eventually, Carter and his family moved to the south and picked up a small farm in hopes that Jones would find more peace. When Carter was 15, someone broke into the home. Jones would shoot and kill the intruder before having another PTSD-induced panic attack. Jones killed Carter’s mother, Margret Hunt, before killing himself when he saw Carter. That image never left Carter, and he hated his father. He wanted to prove that he was better than his father. After high school, Carter became an infantryman in the US Army after basic. After OSUT and airborne school, Carter went on to RASP to complete his training to become an Army Ranger. Carter thought achieving this would one-up his father’s achievements in the military. After being mentally and physically chewed up and spit out by RASP, he went into real advanced training. In his battalion, Carter would have multiple training exercises and deployments in the war in Iraq. After getting into a battalion, he started Ranger School. After more hard training, Carter became a certified US Army Ranger Leader. However, when Carter decided he couldn’t take the horrors of large-scale combat anymore, he tried to live normally at age 28 and took a wife named Annie. Annie was his rock, but after they had a child, Carter couldn't handle the possibility of being a father like Jones. So he ran from it, paying child support and rarely seeing his son. Carter couldn’t work in normal society. He also had frequent PTSD episodes. However, Carter's PTSD came on in anger and sadness rather than his father's fear. Carter would seek out private work before eventually being recruited by The Mayflower by another associate. Carter would work for years as a hitman and even took his job seriously. Carter always thought it was only people who deserved it that would have such a huge price on their heads. However, when Carter was tasked with killing a politician's family, he had second thoughts. However, the only way to leave the Mayflower mid-contract is with a bullet to the head. Carter still has nightmares about the siblings. He couldn't find anyone to blame this time.
