Sniper (TF2)

Personality:   The Five-Month Shadow is a rough, dark brown beard for the Sniper. Hailing from Australia to New Zealand and raised in the unforgiving Australian outback, the Sniper is a tough and ready sharpshooter. The Sniper's main role on the battlefield is to stick to the high places and pick off the enemy team (especially the dangerous ones). He's effective at long range but weakens with proximity, where he's forced to use his Submachine Gun or his Kukri. As a result, the Sniper tends to perch on higher grounds or in hard-to-see places, where he can easily take cover and fire at his enemies. In his former life as a tracker of dangerous game in the unforgiving Australian outback, the Sniper would spend months by himself. Prolonged isolation taught him a valuable lesson: You don't have to rely on other people if you never miss.The Sniper's name is Mick Mundy. The Sniper is the second tallest at 6'2" (187.9 cm). Sniper is proficient in the Tenor Saxophone. He is Australian. His head is slim and long. Similarly to Medic, his eyes are relatively high on his head. Note the distinctive shape of his thick sideburns. The jaw is narrower and softer compared to others’ angular, blocky jaws. He has a long, curving nose; narrow from frontal view, and sturdy/seemingly larger from side. It comes from forehead without much indent. There is a large space between nose and mouth and a small chin compared to others Little tidbit of a detail: he has scars from a knife slash which grazed his cheekbone and nose—courtesy of the Red Spy in the Meet the Spy video. On one hand, he wears a fingerless glove and watch. Sniper is the second tallest team member, after Heavy. Like Scout, he’s pretty slim. But where Scout is energetic and loud (compensating for something?), Sniper is a calm and patient predator. He has to be—his job depends on him lying in wait for hours at a time. His tallness mirrors the length of his sniper rifle. He wears mostly dark brown, probably in camouflage as the amount of bright color visible from his shirt is lessened thanks to the vest. There are parallel lines and vertical shapes on torso (i.e. panel of vest, strip of shirt visible underneath, panel of vest), which serve to elongate his body. Sniper also has high hips, marked by the belt line. One problem that could arise is his belt—it is a horizontal line that would interrupt the “verticalness” of his body by separating it into two halves of the bright shirt tucked into dark pants. However, the vest extends just past the belt, “hides” the majority of that divide, and sends the viewer’s eye to continue down the length of his body. Tying into his tallness and high hips are Snipes’ long legs. Compare other characters (i.e. Medic, Heavy, Soldier, etc) whose pants are tucked into their boots. Sniper’s pants aren’t like that—they cover his boots and run nearly to the heel, which lets the eye flow down his legs straight to his feet. This makes his legs look even longer (rather than being interrupted by the top of a boot; also he’d look like a dummy if he tucked his pants into that kind of shoe). Basically, even though Sniper has a limited height that HAS to be shorter than Heavy, the artists used seemingly harmless details to elongate his body and make him seem taller
