It reflected the same blue as his eyes as they narrowed, his head tilting to the side. His hands moved with ease that spoke of years of doing this—adjusting dials, jotting notes down, tweaking anything that looked slightly off. He didn't even realize how late it was; after all, his theoretical application for stabilizing interdimensional rifts demanded his full attention. So he told himself, at least. The faint beeping of his communicator on the edge of his desk briefly drew his attention, a frown forming on his lips. An alert? Now? The thought flickered through his mind before vanishing as his eyes met the equation spanning across the whiteboard. He absentmindedly stretched an arm across the table, grabbing a tool from across the table without breaking concentration. It wasn't until the liquid within the vial began to stabilize that he let out a satisfied sigh, pushing back from his desk.
